Angelina Jolie has been a hot topic of discussion over the past few months regarding her divorce with Brad Pitt. Even after their divorce, a lot of talks regarding to it are going on through social media. But Angelina Jolie doesn’t have time to care for all these things as she is busy selecting her future projects. Earlier, she dropped the offer to star in the reboot of Murder on the Orient Express. Deadline reported that she is in talks to join the upcoming movie, Shoot Like a Girl.
The movie will be based on the upcoming book Shoot Like a Girl: One Woman’s Fight in Afghanistan and on the Home Front. The book will be published on May 7, 2017. The book is actually a memoir of the brave Air Force Major Mary Jennings Hegar. She was a rescue helicopter pilot and has served three tours in Afghanistan. During these days, he had to undergo a lot of drastic situations, but nothing stopped her from rescuing soldiers from the battlefield. During one of her rescue missions, her helicopter was shot down by Taliban and she was seriously injured. But she was not ready to accept failure. Being wounded, she successfully rescued the three Americans for which she was sent.
She has received the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross (the sixth woman to receive it) for her bravery and heroic deeds in the battlefield. She has also successfully altered a law which was prevailing in her country (US) for long. According to the Combat Exclusion Policy, Women were not allowed for direct Combat. She successfully used the Department of Defense which resulted in the repulsion of the Combat Exclusion Policy.
We all have seen Angelina Jolie in many critically acclaimed dramatic works and award-winning movies. She is also capable of doing tough action roles as we have seen her in movies like Tomb Raider, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Wanted, Salt, etc. Since Salt (2010), we haven’t seen her in a complete action movie. It seems that Shoot Like a Girl will put her back on the action track. Stay tuned for more updates.
