This Suicide Squad Member Talks About A Potential Sequel

Suicide Squad was the big risk DCEU took after two critically panned movies. DCEU had always made movies that were darker and more serious as compared to their counterpart Marvel. And they had suffered for this with bad reviews from fans and critics. Batman Vs Superman was so highly criticized that DCEU literally re-approached Suicide Squad with a comedic direction. And it has paid off for DCEU in the box office, as Suicide Squad has made over $700 million at the box office, even though it still has not shaken off all the bad reviews.

Now, with speculations that a potential sequel is in the works, a few cast members of Suicide Squad have spoken out their opinions on the movie and its supposed sequel. One of those cast members is Jai Courtney who played Captain Boomerang in the film. Courtney was a guest on the podcast Happy Sad Confused, where the actor talked about all things Suicide Squad:

“How do you please everyone? And I don’t think Suicide Squad ever intended to…. So no one’s setting out to upset the fan base, certainly not a fan base that can be as loyal as this kind of crowd can. But I don’t know how you can push the envelope or try and protect something [without taking risks]…..I know what I like in a movie, and it’s not the same thing as my twelve-year-old niece….It’s a challenge, and David [Ayer] did an incredible job, and I sure as hell hope we get to make another one with him.”

Director David Ayer seems to get along well with the cast as all of them have talked so highly of the first time DCEU director. And with DCEU’s past record with Zack Snyder, it is highly possible for Ayer to return for the sequel as it seems to be a winning formula for DCEU.
