Marvel Studios and Sony announced their collaboration way back on launching a new Spiderman franchise as Andrew Garfield starrer Amazing Spiderman series failed to yield rich dividends to Sony. In the new franchise, the popular actor Tom Holland has been cast as Peter Parker/Spiderman, he has already been introduced in Marvels Captain America Civil War and lived up to the mighty expectations of Spiderman fans in an ensemble superhero movie.
With the increasing hype about the standalone Spiderman movie, the studio finalized on Spiderman Homecoming storyline. They have also finalized Vulture as the big villain. It’s very likely that Michael Keaton (Birdman, Spotlight) end up playing him as there has been constant negotiations between him and the studio.
Vulture will be wearing a suit which gives him the ability to fly at increased strength, built from the remains of Chitauri (a race of extraterrestrial shapeshifters) technology from the battle of New York. He will also employ the help of a man called Tinkerer who will actually make the advanced flight suit based on superior alien technology, in comics he is known to be a person with a penchant to make spectacular mechanical devices. He will be played by Logan Marshall- Green (24 TV Series, The O.C., Dark Blue).
In addition to this, Donald Glover has been cast as Peter Parker’s friend, but he ain’t playing the role of Miles Morales, Michelle Gonzales will be Peter Parker’s love interest instead of Gwen Stacy or Mary Jane, Robert Downey Jr. a.k.a Tony Stark will most likely act as a mentor to Peter Parker in the film and surprise him with cool gadgets. We know that he may give him a new upgraded suit with likely spidey web wings and web-shooters that displays classic spiderman signal.
Spiderman Homecoming is expected to hit theatres on July 6, 2017.
