The Bourne series consist of four films namely The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), and The Bourne Legacy (2012). The fifth installment titled as Jason Bourne is under post-production and is all set to hit the screens on July 21st of this year.
The main character in the series is Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), a CIA assassin suffering from severe memory loss who is on a mission to find his identity. But the fourth installment showcases a character named Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) who is an indirect victim of Jason Bourne’s actions. The first part is directed by Doug Liman whereas the second and third part is directed by Paul Greengrass. The fourth installment is directed by Tony Gilroy. The first three parts were very well received by both the audience and critics whereas the fourth part received mixed reviews. Tight screenplay and unique storytelling are the main highlights of the series. A curiosity is created in the minds of the viewers after each scene. Another thing that needs special mention is Matt Damon’s performance. Now everyone is eagerly waiting for the fifth installment directed by Paul Greengrass.
Mission: Impossible Series
There are five films in the Mission: Impossible series and they are Mission Impossible (1996), Mission: Impossible 2 (2000), Mission: Impossible 3 (2006), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
This spy thriller series tells the story of an IMF (Impossible Missions Force) agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). The first part is directed by Brian De Palma, the second by John Woo, the third by J.J. Abrams, the fourth by Brad Bird and the fifth by Christopher McQuarrie. The sixth installment is under development and Paramount Pictures confirmed the return of Christopher McQuarrie as the director of the film. The hidden agenda behind the creation of the character Ethan Hunt was to compete with James Bond series which was started ages ago even before the birth of Ethan Hunt. Stylish presentation and rich visuals make the series worth a watch. The daredevil and dupe fewer stunts by Tom Cruise is another highlight of the series.
The Fast and The Furious Series
The Fast and the Furious series consist of seven films and they are The Fast and the Furious (2001) 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast and Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), Fast and Furious 6 (2013) and Furious 7.
The movie series tells the story of illegal street racing and robberies and consists of four main characters namely Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster). The first part is directed by Rob Cohen and the second part is directed by John Singleton. Parts three to six is directed by Justin Lin. The seventh part is directed by James Wan. Paul Walker lost his life in an accident even before completing Furious 7. The remaining shots were completed with the help of his brother Cody Walker and special CGI. Currently, the shooting of eighth part (Furious 8) is going and the makers plan to release it by next year. Breathtaking actions scenes and thrilling racing scenes and chases are the main highlights of the series. This franchise has a cult fan following all over the world, especially in Asian Countries.
