Flash Season 2 Flashpoint Storyline:
The Flash Season 2 seems to be entering into the last lap with just four episodes remaining in the season. In the last episode, we saw how Zoom captured Wally west and threatened to kill him if Flash doesn’t give up his speed force, he complied and now Zoom/Hunter Zolomon is the fastest man alive across the multi-verse. He tried to kill Barry but Caitlin intervened and he took her to Earth-2. Killer Frost (Caitlin Snow Doppel-ganger) is also locked in Zoom’s cage along with a mysterious man in the iron mask, she cut a deal with Caitlin to help her break free from the cage in return for a safe return to Earth-1. When she came out, she turned on Caitlin and tried to kill her only to be stabbed by Zoom. Clearly, Zoom has fallen off the deep end when he said to Caitlin – “I used to determine success from the count of my victims, maybe I should change it to number of earths conquered”.
The show-makers resorted to the plot device which they consistently used in the first half of the season i.e dropping a major cliff-hanger at the end of the episode to keep the audience on the edge. In the latest episode titled “Back to Normal”, the last scene had Prof. Wells telling Barry that he would restore his speed force by recreating the events of particle accelerator explosion. There are ample hints now which could point to the possibility of a version of Flashpoint comic storyline (created by Geoff Johns) on a TV show. In the Flashpoint plot, the Flash loses his powers due to the paradox created by Reverse Flash, and in order to regain his powers he needs to go through the particle accelerator explosion again. Are you ready for this? Is this Flash fan fantasy come true? We shall see…Stay tuned.
