The Thanos Novel Reveals How He Got The Outriders & Chitauri Armies

Thanos Novel:

Avengers: Infinity War was surely the biggest movie of 2018 and it actually has a lot of backstories that we are still finding out with the rest of the material that Marvel is putting out. Avengers: Infinity War – The Art of the Movie gave us a good look at the film behind the scenes, and now Marvel has launched an adult Novel called Thanos: Titan Consumed. It focuses on the past and downfall of Thanos, and tell us much more than what met the eye at the theatres.

There were 30 minutes of Thanos’ backstory which was shot but cut out of the film because it was already 2 Hours and 30 minutes long. So Marvel decided to put it all in a book and tell the audiences who really want to know more about the film.

The Novel revealed what really happened to Titan, and how Thanos survived the destruction of the planet being exiled from it. Then it takes us to the point where Thanos rose in power and came to be the leader of two separate groups of warriors that we saw in The Avengers and Avengers: Infinity War.

The Avengers was a revolutionary film as it totally changed the landscape of Hollywood. It brought the best out of the heroes and to do that, it was important that they kicked a lot of alien army asses. The use of Chitauri was actually a great choice on the part of the Marvel creatives as they have been the best amongst the three armies that the Avengers have fought till now. All this does have us asking that how exactly did Thanos get a hold of these two armies.

The Novel tells us that after being exiled, Thanos fought his way through the galaxy with an aim to get to Asgard. Amidst all that, he then came across the Chitauri homeworld which according to the book consists of a hive mind that controls all its beings. This is the reason why every Chitauri Soldier and even the Leviathans fell like deadbeats after Tony Nuked the hell out of the Hivemind.

When Thanos comes across the Chitauri Homeworld, he convinces the Chitauri leader known as the Other, to allow him to assume command of the hive mind for the purpose of conquering the galaxy. We saw the aftermath of this in Infinity War where Thanos invaded and killed half the population of Gamora’s people on the Zehoberi planet with the help of the Chitauri soldiers.

But later Thanos desired to have a more controllable army as he knew the unruly nature of the Chitauri hive mind so that led him to begin experimenting on his own genetic creations. He mixed the Chitauri DNA with his own and that resulted in the mindless four armed Zombie race called the Outriders.

All this may or may not be referenced in the films because the purpose of these extra books is always to give us the answers that the movies would not want to spend time upon.

We may get to see these two armies through time travel sequences in Avengers 4, but it is highly doubtful that the Avengers will fight a new army in the film. Rather, there is a probability that we could actually get to see them fight an army of the previous MCU villains led by Thanos.
