Spider-Man has had his grand entrance into the MCU, and in fact, we have seen a whole lot of the Web-Slinger ever since he swung into Civil War. He was one of the highlights in the Airport Battle, as people were really amazed to see the best version of Spider-Man till now. Then came in Homecoming which celebrated Spidey and truly welcomed him into the MCU. His third appearance stunned the entire world as the Iron Spider suit was literally amazing, but Spidey left us all very emotional at the end of Infinity War.
While we know that Spidey is going to be back in Avengers 4 since Tom Holland will be shooting a sequel to Homecoming real soon, we could expect some more greatness from the Web Slinger to come next year. This would be the very first time that Spider-Man appears in 2 movies within a year. Avengers 4 may not have as big of a role as Infinity War did for Spider-Man because there are going to be even more characters involved in the film, but looking at him make a return would certainly be a treat to witness.
Spider-Man is one of the biggest heroes from the Marvel comics, and even though his name is not as big as Iron Man, he is still being treated with the respect he truly deserves. Spider-Man has a big future with MCU, and according to the deal Marvel/ Disney have with Sony, there has to be a solo Spider-Man movie to come out in every 2 years, which means that Spider-Man will be done with an entire trilogy till 2021. He will have had major character development till then as Spider-man will have appeared in different 6 movies, and he would be up for more team up appearances as well.
Since Spider-Man is having really frequent appearances, it is obvious that we will get new suits with almost every new appearance. Spidey has appeared in the MCU thrice and we have already seen 3 different suits for the Wall Crawler. Each suit kept getting upgrades that were really eye catchy and fun to watch. One would imagine that no other suit could top the Iron Spider suit as it is the most advanced armour we could ever see upon Spidey. So just like the comics, Peter should go back to the previous suit that he got from Tony after he is done with Avengers 4.
But, as it turns out, Peter would in fact be getting a new suit in his upcoming sequel to Homecoming. The new suit also seems to be getting major changes. As it is apparent, almost every hero gets a suit upgrade with an appearance in a new movie, so why should Spidey be treated differently. The costume designer of Spider-Man: Homecoming recently had an interview with India West, and here’s what he said about Spidey’s new suit in the upcoming sequel:
“I am not actually working on that film, but the costumes will have very big changes because, in the film, Spider-Man becomes more like man and not teenager.”
Sure Peter Parker will be growing up. Infinity War already took place almost 2 years later than Spider-Man: Homecoming and it is being said that Avengers 4 will also have a time jump. So, Peter is going to be a little older and mature, moving towards manhood. By the third movie, he is going to be a really capable hero that is mature and experienced enough to even lead the New Avengers even though there may be much older and experienced members already looking after the team.
Still, a suite upgrades with every new movie is pretty obvious and mandatory. New suits means new toys and merchandise to sell, so that is the biggest reason why we get these suit changes in almost every film. Also, they offer a new look to our favorite heroes so that keeps up the hype and does not let us get bored so easily.
Well, Avengers 4 toy sales are going to be insane with the rumors of a Thanos Buster Armor, and Hulk getting a suit of his own. Other heroes are also getting suit upgrades as we can see in this promo art. Avengers 4 will come out on May 3, 2019 and Spider-Man 2 will come out on July 5, 2019.
