Brie Larson’s New Superhero Costume Revealed in Captain Marvel 2 Photos

The first teaser trailer for The Marvels has been released, and now we can finally see what Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel will be up to in this eagerly anticipated sequel. The trailer opens with an explosion that appears to start a series of events that result in the three heroes teaming up to battle a common foe. We also get to see Brie Larson’s new superhero costume which features a huge lightning bolt or an enlarged Hala star symbol at the front.

It’s important to note that Genis-Vell, the son of the original Captain Marvel in the comics, has a suit that Carol’s new outfit pays homage. But Carol is also seen wielding an Accuser hammer, a weapon first used by Ronan the Accuser in Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s possible that Ashton’s villain will play a major part in the sequel because the hammer was first seen being wielded by Ashton’s character in the trailer.

Regarding the antagonist, the trailer provides a brief glimpse of Larson’s Carol Danvers in conflict with Ashton’s unnamed main antagonist. We are eager to see the Avenger confront this new threat because she continues to look fierce. Little is known about The Marvels‘ storyline, but the post-credits scene from Ms. Marvel set up the sequel’s events. It is obvious that the three heroes will be up against a common foe, but it is not yet known who that foe is. The Avenger will undoubtedly wear her new outfit during the decisive battle, that much is certain.

The final scene of the trailer shows the three main heroes regrouping in an unknown base, which could be where Carol discovers her new superhero suit. This could lead to the sequel’s final battle, and we can’t wait to see what happens. It’s also worth noting that Brie Larson’s costume change in Captain Marvel 2 follows an MCU tradition of upgraded looks for titular heroes in sequels. Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor all had different costumes in their respective sequels, and it’s great to see that tradition continue with Carol Danvers.

All in all, The Marvels‘ new trailer looks fantastic, and we can’t wait to see what else Marvel Studios has in store for us. The trailer offers a glimpse at the sequel’s exciting switcheroo story of the three main heroes as their powers become entangled. We also get our first look at Park Soo-joon’s MCU character, who is yet to be named.

The Marvels is set to premiere in theaters on November 10, and we can’t wait to see what this highly-anticipated sequel has in store for us. Until then, let’s keep watching the trailer on repeat!
