New Loki Theory Suggests That Sylvie Enchanted Loki In Episode 3

Loki’s episode 3 has given us a lot to think about. The show finds Loki trying to find a place for himself in the world. Moreover, we see an unusual alliance forming in episode 3 between Loki and Sylvie. Episode 3 “Lamentis” reveals that Sylvie can swim deep in her victims’ memories using her Enchantment power. Sylvie was able to construct an illusion in which the two of them were old friends sharing cocktails in a bar and then quizzed C-20 for details about the security surrounding the Time-Keepers. So, her powers are pretty strong. Well, our new theory does suggest that Sylvie Enchanted Loki. If you remember, she tried to work her magic on Loki as well. So what if she was successful?

Sylvie Enchanted Loki

At this point in time, Sylvie’s only motive to enchant Loki is to get back the TemPad. She was really after it ever since Loki stole it from her at the TVA. But Loki is no less. He showed Sylvie that the TemPad was crushed. But that could be just another trick. It wouldn’t be at all out of character for him to have created an illusion of a broken TemPad so that Sylvie would give up trying to get it back. And that is why Sylvie enchanted Loki to create this hypothetical apocalypse.

This means that the apocalypse cannot actually kill Sylvie and Loki both. The ending of the third episode showed Loki and Sylvie and both stranded on Lamentis with no possible way out. There’s not much time left before Lamentis-1 is destroyed in an apocalyptic event. According to Loki, the TemPad was destroyed when he was thrown out of the train. But their death is obviously not in the picture. The show is halfway through its run, and things are only going to get rough from here.

Sylvie Needs Loki’s Help

It was obvious that Sylvie was beyond infuriated when Loki sabotaged her plans. But it looks like till this time, she is in pretty much control. She easily set up a trap for the TVA at Roxxcart apocalypse, and then easily lured Loki just by enticing him to a certain extent. Since the beginning, she repeatedly told Loki that the plan wasn’t about her. But it seems like Loki was always a part of her plan.

Sylvie Enchanted Loki

This is further proved by the fact that she deliberately left the time door open. But as soon as he passed through the time door open, the door shut immediately. Some might say it’s a coincidence, but I think it’s for a reason. She wanted to just let Loki pass through and no one else. Some might even say that their ways were already aligned. Moreover, after realizing that the TVA is the most powerful force in the universe, Loki set his eyes on the Time-Keepers. This is something that Sylvie realizes and knows could use to her benefit. Hence, she could have actually enchanted Loki.

History Proves That Loki’s Mind Isn’t That Powerful

MCU Mind Stone

Throughout the MCU, Loki’s arrogance and high-headedness have always been the reason for his loss. Similarly in Loki, he brags that his mind is too strong to be enchanted. Sylvie explains that she makes a connection with her targets after scouting through their memory. Also, it happens in a jiffy. So, there is a huge possibility that Sylvie enchanted him to make him think that he isn’t actually enchanted.

Even in The Avengers, Loki was given a scepter containing the Mind Stone and he was affected by it. And this variant of Loki has experienced that first-hand. So, Sylvie could have used that loose thread and taken Loki under her grasp. I mean, overall, the concept is fascinating. If Loki is actually enchanted, he is in for a ride. All this could further tell him that he isn’t the smart variant and everything else that Mobius said about himself.

This is why I believe that Sylvie enchanted Loki. The series stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, and Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, and Eugene Cordero in undisclosed roles. New episodes come out every Wednesday.
