Warning: Episode 9 (Series Finale) spoilers ahead!!
Marvel’s first-ever Disney+ series, WandaVision, concluded this Friday. Episode 9 was truly astonishing. WandaVision kicked off Marvel’s Phase 4. It has set several Marvel projects. WandaVision included two post-credit scenes. The first one established Captain Marvel 2 and Secret Invasion. The second post-credit was a little out of the blue. Wanda was in the Himalayas. That scene has established Doctor Strange 2. Wanda was seeing reading Darkhold in the ‘Astral Plane’.
By the end of episode 9, Wanda decided to demolish her ‘Hex Reality’. This resulted in Vision and their twins perishing. Surprisingly, Wanda seemed ready for this sacrifice. Ever since the twins featured in WandaVision, people have been intrigued about their powers. Let’s talk about Billy and Tommy’s powers in detail.
Thomas “Tommy” Shepherd, and Wiccan:
Marvel comics provide a strong base for both the twins. Tommy and Billy are Vision and Wanda’s twin. But Vision is a synthezoid, and Wanda is a chaos magician. The children were undone and exposed as manipulation by Master Pandemonium. Regardless, the children were reincarnated. Thomas “Tommy” Shepherd is the only son of Frank and Mary Shepherd. William “Billy” Kaplan is the eldest of three sons born to Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan.
Thomas “Tommy” Shepherd:
Thomas was a problem child in the beginning. Tommy accidentally ‘vapourised’ his high school using his powers. As a result, he was imprisoned under court order in a high-powered facility equipped with advanced offensive and defensive technology such as robotic suits and power-dampening containment cells. Tommy was locked until the Young Avengers freed him. Here is a list of Tommy’s superhuman abilities:
Superhuman Speed and Molecular Acceleration:
Tommy can run really fast. Speed can run, move and react at speeds far greater than the average human. His top running speed is 761 miles per hour, according to himself. He can generate hyper-kinetic vibrations that accelerate the molecules in matter. This vibration can explode any object when directed.
Strength and Perception:
Speed can run, move and react at speeds far greater than the average human. His top running speed is 761 miles per hour, according to himself. His brain processes information at a high rate to match his bodily speed. This makes him perceive the world in slow motion.
Stamina and Agility:
Speed has much more stamina because of his physiology. This allows him to operate at peak capacity for at least several hours before he begins to grow tired. Tommy also has impeccable balance because of his speed and precision.
Reflexes and Durability:
Speed’s physiology plays a major role in his powers. It provides him with limited protection against impact forces. Also against high levels of friction that are produced when he moves at superhuman speed. He’s capable of reacting fast because he’s moving at superhuman speeds everything moves slower for him.
Wiccan “Billy” Kaplan:
Wiccan “Billy” Kaplan was born to Jeff Kaplan, a cardiologist, and Rebecca Kaplan, a psychologist. When he was young, Billy Kaplan realized he was gay, and so took a lot of abuse from classmates. After an encouraging word from a random encounter with the Scarlet Witch, Billy decided to stand up to his bully, John Kessler, when the next opportunity presented itself. Here is a lot of Billy’s power:
Reality Warping and Concussice Force Blasts:
Billy can manipulate reality. He controls various forms of mystical energy, which he inherited from his spiritual mother the Scarlet Witch. It was stated by Master Pandemonium. While generally, his spells are very effective, the spells can be degraded by a lack of willingness to perform them or stress. Wiccan can use magic to increase the powers of himself or others for long periods of time. He can generate and manipulate energy to project blasts of concussive force with different shapes and intensities, including, beams, bursts, bolts, and waves.
Flight and Teleportation:
Wiccan can levitate. He can engage in self-propelled flight and has shown to be able to give others the ability to do so. He can teleport himself and others over undetermined distances with an untested maximum through his spells.
Healing and Telepathy:
Billy can quickly heal others through his spells. However, the effectiveness of this healing can be greatly affected by his will to do it or if he has troubles focusing his mind on healing the target. Wiccan has shown to possess telepathic abilities. He was able to manifest the thoughts of someone’s mind.
Solid Energy Constructs and Telekinesis:
As mentioned earlier, he can levitate, propel and manipulate objects and matter with his mind. He can generate and manipulate energy to create solid constructs such as disks, orbs, shields, platforms, force fields, and other projectiles or constructions.
