It is claimed that we haven’t seen 3/4th of what the Justice League Snyder Cut. Joss Whedon reshot about 80% of Snyder’s footage, and a lot of Snyder’s footage was left on the editing room floor. But now, we will see all of it. We will get to see the true version of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. And, it’s good to see that everyone close to this project is maintaining a lot of secrecy around it despite the fact that a few key details are already known to people. So clearly, there’s a lot more that we still don’t know & haven’t seen.
Even with the two pieces of footage that Snyder has given us after the announcement of his cut, you may have noticed that the length of the footage was very short. They were little clips from 2 different scenes of the upcoming film. Snyder has promised that “at FanDome there will be more footage so you can look forward to a bigger meal if you will.” He confirmed that it will be a teaser for the film. So, we’re quite excited because even with the two little scenes, he has proven that there is a lot that we haven’t seen.
One of those is a scene that involves Diana & Lois Lane. As we know, Lois’ involvement in Whedon’s cut was very limited. She didn’t have any more than 3 scenes in total. But we can be sure that she is a bigger part of the Snyder Cut. A couple of details about one of her scenes with Wonder Woman have been revealed by Justice League producer & Zack Snyder’s wife Deborah Snyder. Here’s what she revealed during her panel at Justice Con:
“It’s a scene where Diana visits Lois after Clark’s death and she’s been, you know, not going out and it’s just very supportive scene because even though she’s lost her house, she’s coming there not to ask for help, but to help Lois. I can’t wait and you’ll get to see that scene.”
From what Deborah has revealed here, it seems that this will probably be a scene after the league decides to bring Superman back. It could take place in the beginning where Diana tries to console Lois after the sacrifice that Clark made in Batman V Superman, but this scene would fit much better with Diana trying to console her, and ask her to help Clark return to his senses when he is resurrected. Remember that Bruce asked Alfred to bring Lois Lane as the “big guns” against Superman? It seems that Diana will help bring the big guns instead of Alfred getting Lois Lane.
Lois Lane will play a key role in turning Superman’s story arc in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and if the next installment of this film takes place, then she’d have an even bigger role. That’s because “it’s Lois! Lois Lane. She is the key.” This is what Barry told Bruce in the Batman V Superman time travel sequence. He told this to Bruce because Lois is supposed to die in Justice League 2 (if it happens). Here are the key details of Snyder’s 5 movie arc of the DCEU, that have been revealed in the past:
“Snyder’s Justice League would play like the theatrical version, with one ending twist: Darkseid revealing himself to the League, as Steppenwolf’s master.
Justice League 2 would’ve gone cosmic, with the League mounting an attack on Apokolips and Darkseid. That major event would’ve brought the New Gods of New Genesis and the Green Lantern Corps into the mix.
The second movie would’ve ended on a dark and ominous loss, as Darkseid thrashed the Justice League and killed Lois Lane, taking Superman prisoner and creating the “Dark Superman” we saw in Batman v Superman through the Anti-Life Equation
Justice League 3 would’ve seen Darkseid invade Earth without the League there to defend it, conquering the planet and creating the “Knightmare” reality in Batman v Superman.
Through several time travel loops (including Flash’s failed warning to Bruce in Batman v Superman) Batman would have to reach Superman and bring him back on the side of good, so that the League could defeat Darkseid and save the world.”
Let’s hope that Zack Snyder’s Justice League becomes a success so that HBO Max will greenlight a sequel as well.
