New MCU Evidence Suggests Nick Fury Didn’t Lose His Eye In Captain Marvel!!

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the real game changer came when Nick Fury showed the world his hidden left eye. For the first time in history, we got to see Nick Fury’s left eye, which had always been hiding inside the eye patch. The question that soon arose amongst the fan circles was – How did Nick Fury lose his eye in the first place?? The answer came in Captain Marvel. And it was not at all impressive so to speak. Nick Fury was scratched in the eye by Goose, an alien Flerken infamous for being a predatory carnivorous beast. But something new has come up and this punches a massive plot hole in the face of the truth. Presenting – New MCU Evidence suggests Nick Fury didn’t lose his eye in Captain Marvel!!

Nick Fury Didn’t Lose His Eye in Captain Marvel

A certain Reddit user managed to unearth this truth while going through the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which also features Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury in a major supporting role. As he glanced through the many scenes of the movie, this Reddit user came across a picture of Nick Fury which is really puzzling.

Captain Marvel Goose

As we all know, Nick Fury lost his eye in the events of Captain Marvel when he was scratched on his eye by Goose. He later gave the official corroboration that he was tortured by aliens for a long time and that is how he ‘heroically’ lost the eye as a sacrifice to the service. But in The Winter Soldier, we see Nick Fury’s picture in Alexander Pierce’s files. And in that picture, Nick Fury has both his eyes intact.

So if Nick Fury had lost his eyes long ago during the events of Captain Marvel, how the hell did he have both his eyes still in place in one of the pictures that Alexander Pierce had of him, in which he look almost certainly way older than how he was in Captain Marvel. Marvel definitely slipped up on this one. The MCU has a lot of plot holes to boats of but this one takes the cake for today. This also opens up the possibility that there are several such small chinks in Marvel’s seemingly impervious continuity armor and not everything that they have planned is what they have executed flawlessly.

There have been many such plot holes like the Infinity Gauntlet sitting in Odin’s Room of Treasures within the scenes of a movie prior to the Infinity War. The events of Spider-Man: Homecoming, which according to a placard shown during the opening sequence of the movie, were set eight years after the events of The Avengers (2012), is also a massive continuity error that Marvel Studios managed to overlook but the fans did not. With as big a franchise as it is, there are sure to be some hiccups along the way. The fans, so huge in amount, will be relentless at finding anything and everything in their power to ensure these mistakes will not be repeated again in the future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
