Iron Man 3 Theory Suggests that Kang The Conqueror Has Already Been Introduced

We’re working our minds quite hard to figure out who really is going to become the big bad of the next story that MCU plans to unravel. The Infinity Saga had Thanos and a bunch of other villains taking their turns to go against the heroes. Some of those were as strong as Dormammu, Ego, and Hela, while others were little threats like Ghost, Whiplash or perhaps Zemo. The next big bad could range between the likes of Galactus, Doctor Doom, Norman Osborn or even Annihilus. But we’re all forgetting Kang the Conqueror who may have already introduced in Iron Man 3.

Marvel Villains

A redditor pointed out the elaborate details of this new theory which suggests that Harley Keener from Iron Man 3 could actually go on to become Kang the Conqueror. Brandon Davis from Comicbook.com gave us a shorter version of it, and it all surrounds Ty Simpkins. As we saw during the funeral segment of Avengers: Endgame, literally everyone was there to pay their respects to the hero that saved the entire Universe – Tony Stark.

Among those individuals was a familiar face that we saw after 6 whole years. Iron Man 3 is a film that doesn’t really get much references because people didn’t really like the Mandarin twist. But Avengers: Endgame brought back an element of that movie as Ty Simpkins’ Harley Keener was also one of the people who came to pay Tony his respect during the funeral. Now, either this was done to just close and arc and make a connection, or it could have happened for a specific reason that will be elaborated in the future.

At the end of Iron Man 3, Tony gave Keener his own lab to work in, and with Endgame came the suggestion of Harley Keener going on to become Iron Lad. Now, this could be a possibility considering that a Young Avengers movie may be in the making since the Hawkeye series will bring in Kate Bishop, Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 would bring in Cassie Lang’s superhero persona and then there’s the inevitable entry of Iron Heart. But, there’s always a ‘but’ involved in these things.

Iron Lad in the comics is Nathaniel Richards and he is the one who further transforms himself into Kang the Conquerer. So, could this be the reason for Harley Keener to make his return in the MCU? Perhaps he could feel neglected and the plot follows the concept of The Incredibles where Mr. Incredible ignored Syndrome and then his family had to pay for that.

But this is something that has already happened thrice in the MCU as Aldrich Killian was neglected by Tony and he became a villain, Quentin Beck followed the same path, and Hank Pym sort of ignored Darren Cross and the same thing happened. So, Tony spending more time with Peter and ignoring Harley shouldn’t be the way for him to turn into Kang the Conquerer. It will be way too redundant.

Next Iron Man MCU

Perhaps the other reason for this could be that Harley Keener blames the Avengers as they couldn’t save the only father figure he had in his life. They couldn’t save Tony so, Keener turned into a villain. The reason why we believe Harley Keener being Kang in the MCU has a chance to be developed in the future is because Kang’s main tool is Time Travel. Since Tony Stark invented time travel, Harley Keener could have an interest in it.

All this could be developed into a story moving forward, or it could be a bunch of back to the future. At this point of time, it’s just here-say. Do you guys believe that this is how Marvel will bring Kang into the larger MCU, or you’ve got some other thoughts of your own? If yes, then you’re welcome to share them with me on Facebook or Instagram.
