New Spider-Man: Far From Home Promo Art Gives Us The Best Look at Mysterio

While the world is talking about Captain Marvel, for now, there are two more exciting MCU entries that are going to hit the theatres in 2019. Avengers: Endgame is the film that most people have been looking forward to since Avengers: Infinity War came out, but Sony’s big superhero entry this year has been marketed really well so far, because a lot of people became really excited about Spider-Man: Far From Home when we got to see the first trailer.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Mysterio

While the trailer was mostly showcasing Spider-Man and the Elementals, the biggest highlight to take away from it was Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio. This is the character people are most looking forward to in Spider-Man: Far From Home and given that he is a Special Effects Maestro in the comics, Marvel could have worked some amazing visual effects for this film as it was apparent in the trailer.

Before the trailer came out, it wasn’t expected that we will get the full look at Mysterio, and it would be rather just a glimpse. But not only did we get to see his full suit with the Fishbowl, but we also got to see him in action against Hydro-Man (was it even a man?). From there, we can take away the fact that the Mysterio suit was pretty awesome and comic accurate. It had more Gold in it, but that obviously enhances the look of the suit.

Peter’s friends described Mysterio as “like Iron Man and Thor rolled all into one,” but I’d say that he also has a bit of Doctor Strange element. At CCXP, Jake Gyllenhaal weighed in upon how his character gets recruited by Fury and what’s the tie-up between them. He said:

Spider-Man: Far From Home Mysterio

“There are these threats to the world, the Elementals, elemental creatures. And Mysterio is someone who knows about them and wants to make sure that the world is safe from them. And Nick Fury asks him to come on and help because he’s the only one who really understands them. And then he teams up with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and unfortunately has to make him become more than a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.”

He also spoke about Mysterio with the Los Angeles Times, and he answered the question of why he took on this role in particular:

“It’s great. He’s a great character. It’s one of those things, people have asked me for a number of years, ‘You wanna do a movie like that? If you were asked to, would you?’ And my response has always been, particularly since being at Sundance, so many of the stories have always been, for many years since I’ve been coming here, character-driven, and that has always been my desire, is to find something in that space, that seems to match my skill and also my own honesty. And it just so happened that it does with that part, so I’m glad that people feel excited about it.”

Tom Holland described Mysterio and Spider-Man as “brothers in arms.” It would be interesting to see the story arc that plays between them in the film. While the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer gave us a good look at Mysterio, we never got the full front on look at his suit, but a new promo art has come in and it shows us exactly how Mysterio is going to look with the whole Fish Bowl and everything. Check it out:

Don’t get mad with how this image actually is because this artwork does tell us exactly how Mysterio is going to look in the film. A second trailer of the film might show up after Avengers: Endgame hits the theatres, i.e. in May.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Mysterio

Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out on July 5th. Here’s the official Synopsis:

“Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!”
