Captain Marvel 2 Will Adapt Critically Acclaimed Secret invasion Comic Book Arc
Captain Marvel 2:
With just one day left for Captain Marvel to hit the screens worldwide, the hype train is at maximum overdrive. Brie Larson plays Captain Marvel, also known as, Carol Danvers in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of the same name. The fans are extremely optimistic about the movie. Not only is it the first female-centric superhero movie under the Marvel Cinematic Universe banner but also it is the movie that features one of the strongest Marvel Comics Superheroes and perhaps the strongest superhero to ever grace the big screens within the confines of Marvel Studios.
Captain Marvel will fight alien shape-shifting Skrulls and other alien forces in this movie, which is set several years before the events of the first MCU movie – Iron Man (2008). But if those are not reasons enough for you to watch the movie, we bet we just might have the right thing for you that will compel you to flock to the theatres. Presenting – Captain Marvel 2 will adapt critically acclaimed Secret invasion comic book arc!!
The Captain Marvel movie will be badass without a doubt. But what about the future of this superhero in the Marvel Universe! Surely with Marvel’s meticulous strategizing for all of its movies to fit correctly into the grand scheme of MCU things, they have something really good planned for Captain Marvel in the near future. Turns out, there actually is something already pre-planned for Carol Danvers in the coming years.
While on an interview regarding the future movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, was asked the future of Captain Marvel. He said that they have already formulated some amazing ideas for the Captain Marvel franchise. And those plans include one of the most popular and well-known storylines that MCU has to offer.
There has been a lot of speculation regarding the Captain Marvel franchise. Many believed that the Secret Invasion story line will be sewed into the Captain Marvel origin story itself. But as it turns out, the Secret Invasion arc is to be brought in only in Captain Marvel 2. The Skrulls need to be introduced and be presented in such a way that they must be seen by the fans as a credible threat to the existence of the world.
Without introducing them in a structured manner, the MCU could really lose out on an opportunity to include the Secret Invasion story line, which has the Skrulls as the primary antagonist. It is good that Marvel is taking things slowly. The Disney-Fox merger is also about to happen anytime now. With the X-Men and the Fantastic Four coming back to the MCU, the Secret Invasion arc could be even more awesome.
It was always Captain America whose movies were used as MCU milestones in the Marvel continuity. Civil War and Winter Soldier fundamentally changed the structure of the MCU universe when they came to the big screens. Let us add Captain Marvel to the mix as well. Do not let us down Carol Danvers. We are counting on you!!!!
