Avengers Infinity War: Here’s Why Loki Can’t Be Alive Disguised as Bruce Banner

Avengers Infinity War has induced more than a 100 theories on the Internet which explain what actually happened, why it happened, and what would happen in the upcoming movie(s). But since we all know that most of these “fan theories” always end up going down the drain as people just read, fantasize and then forget about them because the movies never confirm them officially and tell their own story. So, people don’t just put various theories out there, they also present reasoning to why those particular theories won’t be true. One of the popular ones suggested that Loki is actually alive and he has been disguised as Bruce Banner ever since.

One of the most prevalent theories which has been prevailing for quite a while suggested that Loki did not die at the hands of Thanos in Avengers Infinity War. While most fans want to believe this, Hiddleston himself confirmed that Loki did in fact die for real. But the fans are adamant to prove that wrong, so every now and then we get a theory suggesting the fact that Loki is alive and he used an illusion to mislead everyone including Thanos.

One of the wildest theories that originated out of this was the fact that Loki was actually disguised as Bruce Banner when Hulk lost the battle against Thanos big time. The reason why this theory suggests that was because Banner could not really turn into the Hulk from that point on, but we all know that it was because Hulk did not want to come out. He was tired of defending Banner, and there is no way that it was because Loki was disguised as Hulk.

Well there are more reasons to contradict this and a Reddit user named SicariusREAL has given quite a few arguments to contradict the theory. He wrote on Reddit:

“While in Wakanda, a little bit before Cull Obsidian died, he said something around the lines of ‘Hulk got beat the crap out of with this thing!’ He was talking about the HulkBuster suit and I don’t recall Loki seeing the HulkBuster beat up Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

Obviously, there is no way that Loki could have known that Hulk fought the Hulkbuster. The user presents a second argument to address the fact that Hulk did not lose the battle against Thanos because it was Loki in Disguise, it was because Thanos is just stronger!

“Also, the reason why Hulk got beat up so easily is because Thanos was doing his very best, which is why he took off his armor after he got 2 infinity stones, and why Captain America could easily hold him off. Probably because Thanos thought he was so strong that he didn’t have to try anymore after wielding 5 infinity stones pretty much shows how cocky he is.”

The Russos have already talked about the fact that Thanos is way stronger than the Green Goliath and he doesn’t actually need any Infinity Stone to take him down. To conclude the Redditor claims that Loki is obviously not Banner in disguise, but there would be a way to bring him back. He wrote:

“In the end, Loki IS NOT BANNER But hear me, and rejoice, Loki may be brought back through time travel. As explained in Ant-Man and the Wasp, time travel can be done by going into a time vortex in the quantum realm.”

Loki MCU

Well, now that is pretty obvious given the fact that we will see Loki return as a result of Time Travel. The Set Photos of Avengers 4 have given that away already. Still, this was a sensible explanation as to why Loki is not alive as Bruce Banner.
