Will Ant-Man Appear In Captain Marvel before Avengers 4?

Ant-Man and the Wasp was a great sequel to Ant-Man and Civil War, and it told us exactly where the two little heroes were during the Infinity War. While the story was largely its own, focusing mostly on the world of Ant-Man, it did give us a cliffhanger that will play directly into Avengers 4. A similar feat is expected to be pulled off in Marvel’s next project, Captain Marvel. But what if Ant-Man actually appears in Captain Marvel before his appearance in Avengers 4?

In the post-credits scenes, Scott Lang aka Ant-Man is sent into the Quantum realm one more time to fetch quantum energy to heal Ava. He sent the communication to the physical world to extract him as he successfully collected the mysterious particles required, but there was no response whatsoever. The next scene is in the real world, where Thanos had snapped his fingers resulting in the death of entire Pym family, while Ant-Man is left stranded.

Now, we know that the Quantum Realm also has a role to play in Captain Marvel as well as it has been revealed in an interview with Inverse by Quantum Physicist Dr. Spiros Michalakis who is an MCU contributor as he said that the Quantum Realm will give a “better understanding of Carol Danvers and her place in the MCU”.

He said:

“This is exciting for the future. There are different ways that some of these ideas appear on-screen in a few years. Not just for Ant-Man, but also for Captain Marvel and all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

So could it be Captain Marvel that rescues Ant-Man from the Quantum Realm? Or does Ant-Man actually come out of the Quantum Realm himself? We do know he will escape the Quantum Realm, thanks to the set photos of Avengers 4, but will that happen before Avengers 4 or right in the beginning of the movie remains to be the big question now.

Janet Van Dyne aka Original Wasp told Lang to avoid getting stuck in the time vortexes as they are dangerously unstable, but they can also be the pathway to travel to any time at any point of time. It has been suggested by the same set photos that this scene actually takes place in a time which is years after Infinity War (5 to be precise). In this timeline, Steve Rogers is back as Captain America, Bruce can turn into the Hulk now, and Tony who looks pretty different is now the leader of SHIELD.

So is this where Ant-Man directly lands up after getting sucked into the Time Vortex? If this were to be true, then this scene would surely take place right at the beginning of Avengers 4. Other than this, the time vortex could actually take Ant-Man to some other year, for example, there’s a chance that he could go through one of those vortexes and find himself in the 1990s and this is how he will actually meet Captain Marvel, who will somehow get him home to his own time using her insane power set.

Another more likely possibility is that it is Captain Marvel who will find Lang in the Quantum Realm, and together the two will land in the timeline Avengers 4 takes place. The reason why Captain Marvel could be in the Quantum Realm could be established in her own movie, but we could easily get a post-credits scene where the cliff-hanger of Ant-Man and the Wasp is either solved or another story arc is attached to it in Captain Marvel, which will together be solved fully in Avengers 4.

If this cliffhanger does get solved at the end of Captain Marvel, then we would actually be in luck as no time would actually be wasted in Avengers 4. The story of that movie could continue with the leftover heroes united, instead of having to waste screen time on saving Ant-Man from the Quantum Realm.

Ant-Man Captain Marvel Avengers 4

Avengers 4 will already have a lot on its plate and that is why this needs to happen before the movie. Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019, and here’s the official Synopsis:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
