The Russo Brothers, Anthony, and Joe Russo have been in the news recently for a recent revelation that could change the way we viewed Avengers: Infinity War since we saw it. The movie portrayed Death in the best way possible, unpredictable and fair to all. When Thanos snapped his fingers, many heroes died. Some were not as impactful while some left us in shambles.
The ones that saddened us truly were the deaths of Spider-man, Black Panther, Star-Lord and Doctor Strange. And this popular fan theory about one of these aforementioned superheroes has finally been confirmed to be true. And the ones that confirmed them are the Russo Brothers, the directors of Infinity War, themselves!! Presenting Infinity War – A Popular Spiderman Fan Theory is now officially confirmed to be true!!!

After Thanos collected all six of the Infinity Stones, he managed to snap his fingers and kill half of all life in the universe. One of the greatest casualties of Infinity War was Spiderman. Peter Parker had just joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War and won our hearts and souls when Tom Holland starred as the titular character in Spiderman: Homecoming.
He was literally knighted as an Avenger by Tony Stark an hour ago when Death came knocking at his door. We have seen heartbreak, experienced it firsthand but we were still not ready for Spiderman’s final words:
“I don’t want to go, Mr. Stark.”
And that is why his death was such a major turning point for the MCU. It showed Marvel Studios was not shy about killing off their own flagship characters if it helps deepen the plot and give Thanos the sense of dread he totally deserves as MCU’s greatest villain. The Russos also warned us that Infinity War involves a lot of heartbreak and that they want heroes to feel vulnerable as they are faced with the greatest threat ever. They said:
“This is it. Thanos is an unstoppable villain he’s virtually invincible, he’s highly intelligent – genius level intelligent – he’s like the Genghis Khan of the universe, and to stop him it’s going to cost them a lot”.
“For us, it’s very important that the heroes feel pain and that they make sacrifices because I think that, not only is a great storytelling, but it also is inspiring and I think we need a lot of inspiration in this world right now. So, for us, I don’t know if we can ever get you to accept it, but I promise you this: we’ll do our best to tell you the best story possible, and what you do with it from there is up to you.”
There has been a popular fan theory about Spider-man. And it involves why Spidey took the greatest amount of time to fade away. All the heroes died within seconds of the ‘Snap’ but Peter Parker took a few good minutes before he was pulled into the void as his body (slowly) turned to dust. Why is that? Why did Spider-man take so long to die??
Peter doesn’t just die slowly; he has enough time to give out his final words before fading away. Tony Stark watches helplessly as his sole protégé and ‘son’ is lost forever right in front of his eyes. It is not a coincidence that Peter Parker took the longest of all the heroes to die in Infinity War. The Russo Brothers have confirmed one MAJOR Spiderman fan theory.
The reason Spider-man was able to sense his impending doom when no one else could was that he had accidentally activated one major ability of his that is one of his staple powers as the Spiderman in the comic books. The Russo Brothers claimed in an interview with The Huffington Post, Spiderman sensed his own death courtesy of his Spider-Sense.
“That’s correct,” Joe Russo explained when asked. “He was aware of something.”
The spider sense allowed Peter to stretch out his dying moment as he could literally feel his body being slowly transporting into another dimension. And the scene hit all of us like an emotional hurricane. Matt Aiken, Infinity War VFX firm Weta’s supervisor shared some interesting insights about the entire thing, he said:
“Spidey’s really fighting it. He definitely doesn’t want to go and he’s fighting… he’s incredibly powerful, so he’s able to withhold it for a lot longer than some of the others, but in the end he can’t withstand it.”
He added:
“Nobody at Weta could watch that. The first few times we watched that we all choked up, it’s an incredibly powerful performance and key moment in the film I think. There was less room to kind of smoke and mirrors it, if you like. We had to make sure that it worked really, really well, because it was so drawn out, and so it had to withhold very high levels of scrutiny because we were holding right on Spidey’s face over Tony’s shoulder, through that. It was just making sure that it worked completely consistently, seamless through that trauma process.”
While this theory was making rounds on the internet since forever, it is only now that it has been officially confirmed to be true by the very overlords of Infinity War. The Spider-Sense fan theory about Spiderman is actually true and it has actual implications for Spiderman when he returns to save the world again in Avengers 4.
Spiderman: Homecoming 2 will also see Tom Holland reprise his role as Spiderman and the movie will take place right after the events of Avengers 4. Will this newfound ability have any major impact in the future MCU storylines? Only time will tell.

He was a total rookie then and given the fact that it was his first major assignment as a superhero he did a pretty impressive job lifting Cap’s Shield and displaying some cool moves. It was amply clear that the time is ripe for Marvel-Sony to relaunch Spiderman franchise with Tom Holland in the lead. The movie also starred Tony Stark aka Iron Man who played Peter’s mentor and trainer.
Spiderman recently appeared in Avengers: Infinity War which is already in theaters. He will be seen next in Avengers 4 touted to be bigger and darker.
