The Marvel Cinematic universe is set to expand to 65+ comic-book characters who are likely to appear in Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4. Marvel Studios have managed to assemble a magnificent cast under one roof to create a mega comic-book event as part of phase 3. The Infinity War films are the most awaited superhero ensemble movies of the 21st century.
The long-awaited trailer of Avengers Infinity War released online and created flutter on the internet. Infact, one Marvel fan said that the imagination of MCU begins where the thought process of DCEU ends. But this article is not about disparaging DC for their non-performance at the box-office. The trailer has high-octane action, deep emotion and comic-book vibe all rolled into one.
The scenes in teaser trailer are just breathtaking, action-packed that could even result in Avengers Infinity War becoming the highest grossing movie ever given the massive reception it has got from Marvel fan community and comic-book lovers in general.
We see Nomad Cap leading his new team of superheroes and warriors at Wakanda to prevent Black Order (Children of Thanos) from possibly getting their hands on the sixth Infinity gem. Iron Man is seen in Hulkbuster suit, Spiderman donning Iron Spider suit and Thor meets Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time.
The trailer showed the arrival of the Mad Titan, Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) on Earth. He is here to find out all the infinity stones, assemble them and create an all-powerful Infinity gauntlet. In the MCU, there are six infinity gems that Thanos needs to assemble an infinity gauntlet and control literally every aspect of cosmic existence. There are five Infinity stones that have been introduced but soul stone is yet to be discovered.
Each one of them individually is powerful but collectively they can rewrite reality and destroy worlds. Here’s what the Collector said: “Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots… Infinity Stones.”―The Collector
In the trailer, we saw Thanos finally getting his hands dirty despite having his Black Order and the army of aliens. He was shown beating Spider-Man down and then taking on the poster boy of MCU, Iron Man. This leads to the question if the trailer has actually given a spoiler about the final battle in the movie..!
In the Infinity Gauntlet comics, The Mad Titan invited our superheroes to fight him for the soul of the universe and the heroes fell one by one. Vision, Spider-Man, and Thor were among those superheroes who couldn’t match his powers. Captain America was the last one to join the battle but proved to be of no use and nearly died at Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet-clad hand. This scene seems to have been recreated in the trailer, but instead of Captain, we have Iron Man in his place.
In the trailer, we also saw Tony Stark holding a hand, which is clearly someone’s else’s. The fans are speculating that it’s Pepper Potts and Tony has tears in his eyes probably because she is among the Thanos’ potential casualties.
The trailer features the Avengers fighting at different parts of the world and the only heroes we saw Thanos fighting are Spider-Man, who was easily beaten to the ground and Iron Man, who is given a right hook by the Mad Titan, falls cold on the ground.
Thanos’ encounter with Iron Man doesn’t look positive for the Avengers as it shows that The Titan is so strong that he doesn’t even need the complete Gauntlet to beat the hell out of the superhero. This also hints at the vision of death that Tony Stark had in Avengers: Age of Ultron where he saw himself as the last man standing, could be brought to life in the upcoming movie.
Thanos is not coming on Earth to play games, he’s here to take the infinity stones and create the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet which he believes is rightfully his and he doesn’t seem to care about who he has to injure or kill to meet his goal. Let’s wait and see how things turn up in the movie.
