Arrow season 5 came to a close and left us with an insane cliffhanger that was truly masterful. The entire island was blown off by Prometheus/Chase as he triggered series of explosions which may mean that major characters of Team Arrow are dead. Another amazing development that happened was the return of Slade Wilson as Oliver reached out to him to take down Prometheus. They were friends on the island before they turned foes due to one poor choice by Oliver.
Most fans feel that the show gained massive momentum and eyeballs as Manu Bennett agreed to come back after being abandoned rather unceremoniously.
In the season 2 of Arrow, he came to Starling City to avenge the death of his girlfriend Shado as he believed Oliver is responsible for her death as he chose to protect Sara Lance. He brought an entire army of Mira Kuru soldiers to Starling City who took it under their control, assassinated top officials and bribed others (including Mayor). And then he faded into oblivion, trapped in a maximum security prison and key was thrown away by the show-makers.
Stephen Amell has many times in the past praised Manu Bennett for his remarkable performance as Deathstroke. But now he officially declared him as the show’s greatest villain till now. At the London’s Heroes and Villain Fan Fest, he was asked to choose between Slade Wilson and Prometheus/Chase, he said:
“Manu on season two did a marvelous job. I don’t think of Josh as a villain so much. Mostly because I know him. I think Josh and Prometheus fit best in terms of a season but from an iconic standpoint it’s Deathstroke.”
Well, Stephen Amell’s answer had a little diplomatic tone but we agree with the entirety of it. Deathstroke is considered to be the most iconic villain by fans both in Green Arrow comics and TV show. CHEERS!
