Every movie has at least a conflict, and sometimes good conflicts can be really hurting ones. Most of the times the pain is all too real. Here are some on-set accidents that happened on the movie sets.
1) Leonardo DiCaprio for Django Unchained
Leonardo DiCaprio played a role of a demented slave owner in Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 Western, and in one scene, he informs Django that he knows about his plan to free his wife. Giving emphasis on his point he slammed his fist onto a table and hits a glass in the process. But he continued his dialogue while blood was flowing.
2) Margaret Hamilton for The Wizard of Oz
All the green makeup Hamilton had to wear to portray the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz. She suffered second-degree burns on her face and hands, which stopped her from filming for six weeks to recover.
3) Martin Sheen for Apocalypse Now
The scene that opens the movie is probably one of the most disturbing scenes in the movie. Captain Willard, played by Martin Sheen, smashes his hand and wipes his own blood all over his face. According to the reports, Sheen was very drunk when he was shooting this scene.
4) James Franco for Pineapple Express
According to Seth Rogen’s comment to New York Magazine, James Franco had three stitches on his head while filming the movie. Franco was supposed to run into a tree, he did it with a little too much energy and hurt himself.
5) Steve Carell for The 40-Year-Old Virgin
In an effort to be more appealing to the ladies, Carell’s character goes for a wax. Carell wanted the scene and his reactions to feel authentic, so his hair got ribbed out for real.
6) Viggo Mortensen for Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
When Viggo Mortensen reprised his role as Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings: The two Towers, the actor broke two of his toes in one scene after kicking a helmet, and he falls to the ground in pain.
