John Constantine is a fascinating character with many layers. He is someone who is haunted by the sins committed in the past and then suddenly sent to defend humanity from the forces of darkness.
A few months back Stephen Amell teased about having Constantine in the Season 4 of Arrow. Well, it’s here now, Matt Ryan will reprise his role as John Constantine and will be guest starring in the fifth episode of Arrow season 4 titled “Haunted”. Here is the brief description of the character:
“John Constantine is a weather worn exorcist and expert on the supernatural and the occult. He is a detective, magician, and a hunter of demons, and will provide critical support to Oliver when arrows aren’t enough”.
Marc Guggenheim, the executive producer of the show said in a statement “The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to Arrow and the CW’s DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series.” The arrival of an actual wizard John Constantine works perfectly with the current theme of the show. Here are the possibilities of what might happen in the episode:
Sara Lance is totally unstable, forcing Oliver to call John
In the last two episodes, we saw the resurrection of Sara’s body using holy waters of Lazarus pit and her escape from where she was kept in chains. When Oliver finds out she is alive but is without her own soul, he calls his old friend John Constantine who is an expert in everything supernatural to help him stabilize Sara Lance.
Quentin Lance is strongly advised by Damien Darhk to kill Sara:
Damien Darhk is a former League of Assassins member and is well aware of the devastating consequences of bringing someone back from the dead using the pit. In the last episode, he advised Lance to kill his own daughter, he tried but could’nt do it. In the upcoming episode, when things have gone further south, Darhk will forcefully suggest Lance to end this once and for all.
Restore Sara’s soul to her body:
John Constantine knows his way around magic and mysticism. He will use his special skills and help Green Arrow restore Sara’s soul to her body.
Constantine may offer assistance to make Sara White Canary before LOT:
Constantine may even be useful to transform Sara Lance into White Canary before the spin-off show Legends of Tomorrow begins next year.
