10 Things Fans Definitely Expect to See in Marvel’s Nick Fury TV Series

It is all but a rumour but according to some sources, Marvel Studios is reportedly making a TV Series on our very own and weirdly lovable spymaster. Nick Fury is coming to the small screens, ladies and gentlemen. Disney’s Disney+ streaming service is purportedly hosting the launch of a Nick Fury TV Series. A show that features a character of this caliber needs to be good. But can Marvel actually pull this off? Up until now, Nick Fury has only been showcased as a supporting character, aiding the Avengers do their bidding. We all know that Nick Fury is much more than just being a sidekick. He is about to kick ass pretty soon and we expect certain things to be kept up to the mark as far as a Nick Fury TV Show is concerned. Presenting – 10 Things fans definitely expect to see in Marvel’s Nick Fury TV Series!!

 1. The Infinity Formula

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

The Infinity Formula was the result of decades of experiments by Shield to reverse engineer the super soldier serum for military purposes. Doctor Abraham Erskine was a genius like none other. Not only did he create the super soldier serum but also ensured that his research died along with him. But that is not something that deterred Shield, whose scientists managed to reverse engineer a milder version of the serum for Nick Fury.

With regular dosages of the Infinity Formula, Nick Fury may not become the Super Soldier and put on red, white and blue tights to fight evil but it sure does stop him from getting wrinkles. That’s right folks. The Infinity Formula makes Nick Fury almost immortal. We would love to see that in the show.

 2. Winter Soldier aftermath

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

Hydra did a real number on Shield’s reputation. Shield was found out to have been compromised. It had been slowly and steadily infiltrated by Hydra, its greatest enemy, right under its nose. The Winter Soldier not only led to the downfall of Hydra but also Shield’s. While Agents of Shield did show us how the government now sees Shield as a threat, we would like to see how the public has formed its opinion in this matter. Nick Fury now lives in the shadows, closer to the people. If there ever is a possibility of the show being set in the present, Winter Soldier’s aftermath needs to be covered in extensive detail.

3. Phase 2

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

It is not Marvel’s Phase 2 we are talking about. Shield also has a project code-named Phase 2. It is Shield’s covert attempts to replicate the experiments of Hydra to weaponize the energies emanating from the Tesseract. Phase 2 was what finally helped Iron Man and the Avengers defeat the massive Chitauri Battle station at the end of The Avengers of 2012.

But we know next to nothing about it as of now. Marvel moved on to the next movies pretty quickly and Shield’s Phase 2 operation was forgotten. This could be a hidden trove of trivia we might miss if some light is not shone on it as soon as possible. The Nick Fury show could be a big help.

 4. The Raft

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

What happens after the villains are defeated by the heroes? They are transported to a high-security prison called the Raft. It is a prison specifically built to house the dangerously smart and lethally strong villains of the Marvel Universe. The Raft has been featured in Civil War but is just the tip of the iceberg. We want the show to explore the Raft more. The villains that reside within it need to come out of the dark.

 5. The world security council

Nick Fury TV Series

The World Security Council has the final say when it comes to directing Shield’s actions throughout the world. A shadowy and elite organisation of world leaders that decide the Erath’s fate by themselves, the World Security Council consists of representatives from the strongest countries of the world. The World Security Council has many members yet we only know a few, the most well know being Gideon Malick. There are a lot more members in it and there must be some reason the World Security Council had so much say in Shield matters.

 6. Aliens….lots and lots of aliens

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not just Asgardians, Krees and Skrulls. The MCU did show us a lot of alien races vis-à-vis the GOTG movies and the Infinity War movie. The Captain Marvel movie will shine new light on to the Skrulls and the Kree. But what the fans would really like to see is how these races are connected to Earth.

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

Question – Why are we so fascinated by the Skrulls, the Asgardians, and the Kree and not the other races of the MCU? It is because we know that the former three races are somehow connected to the history of humanity and the planet. The Nick Fury TV Show needs to show us more of such races and how they are connected to humanity’s collective past.

7. His chemistry with Agent Coulson and Maria Hill

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

Agent Coulson and Maria Hill are his top agents. He considers Coulson as a dear friend. He never leaves Maria Hill’s side and trusts her with her deepest and darkest secrets. When Coulson died, Nick Fury moved heaven and Earth to resurrect him. When everyone thought Nick Fury died in the Hydra attack in Winter Soldier, we come to know that Maria Hill is the only Shield operative who was trusted with the information that Fury was in fact alive. How did Fury come across these two? How did his relationship with Coulson and Hill develop to this extent? How does a guy who has grown up with the notion to trust no one so blindly trust these two people? Details!! We want details!!

 8. Arnim Zola

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

Doctor Arnim Zola was the head scientist of Hydra during the Second World War. He helped Red Skull annihilate scores of allied soldiers using inhumane weapons. After the war, USA recruited him into Shield where he helped Shield provide assistance to America during the Cold War with the Soviet Union. Arnim Zola is one of Marvel’s greatest villains and his death in The Winter Soldier was untimely and unfortunate. Considering he is just a series of computer codes, it is logical to think that he managed to escape the explosion that destroyed the bunker containing his data banks. We would like to see him return.

 9. Shield Super soldier experiments

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

There have been numerous attempts by governments all over the world to replicate the Super Soldier Experiment that gave birth to Steve Rogers aka Captain America. None of them have truly succeeded. Shield, with its extensive resources and the cutting edge technology at its disposal, has managed to stay ahead of the curve by using innovative and creative techniques to replicate the experiment.

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

They have experimented on mutants, the symbiotes, and even cybernetic enhancements to make another super soldier. The Infinity Formula that Nick Fry uses regularly to increase his lifespan was the result of one such experiment. Shield’s various super soldier experiments need to be highlighted.

 10. The Iliad

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

The Helicarrier we see in Shield is actually not the only one in the MCU. Shield actually possesses the capacity to produce several such Helicarriers once given the order. This means that there is the possibility that there might be several Helicarriers operating in the world at the same point of time in the MCU. And it is not necessary that they are of the same design. One such Helicarrier in the Marvel Comics is the Iliad, the secret headquarters of the Secret Avengers, Shield’s elite Black Ops division that carries out covert, unsanctioned operations throughout the world.

Nick Fury TV Series Marvel

The last Avengers movie to be released under the MCU banner was Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
