The Marvel Cinematic Universe just received its latest superhero in the form of the femme fatal She-Hulk. Jennifer Walters is a lawyer who gains her powers in the comics after Bruce Banner is forced to transfuse his blood to her to save her life. Although the MCU version seems to be a bit different because the trailer does not give us a lot of information about her origins or the source of her power. But one question that is intriguing fans even more after the trailer has little to do with She-Hulk herself. you see, The Hulk also makes an appearance in the trailer and fans have been asking just how did Hulk heal his arm after the snap?
When you look closely at the trailer you can see that Banner is not only in his Professor Hulk form but has also completely healed after the Endgame battle. For those who have been living under a rock for the last decade or so, The Hulk used his high level of durability to take the brunt of the force of the Infinity Stones and the Iron Man gauntlet. This enabled him to snap his fingers and bring back everyone whom Thanos dusted in Infinity War. It was quite the ordeal, and we really appreciate The Hulk sticking up for the MCU like that. Although, the immediate injury did put him out of commission for most of the final battle in Endgame. Still, his sacrifice allowed us to make our universe whole again.
How Did Hulk Heal His Arm After The Snap
Now, this is the part where things become tricky. You see, The Hulk was seen last in the after-credits scene of Shang-Chi where he appeared in human form with his right arm in a sling. This signifies the fact that the injury Hulk sustained to his arm was serious enough to revert him back to the form of Banner and still affected him as a human being. Hulk is one of the strongest characters in the MCU and an injury of this level only makes sense because it was sustained by the Infinity stones.
Moreover, the trailer clearly showcases Professor Hulk and not your normal Hulk so we know it happens after Infinity War, but the real question is whether it happens before Endgame or not? If the answer to that question is yes then it could explain how did Hulk heal his arm in the trailer. However, if the show takes place after Endgame, things become tricky again. As seen in Shang-Chi, the snap clearly had a lasting effect on Bruce so we think it would be hard for Marvel to simply give us a hand-wavy explanation in the show.
But then again, this is Marvel we are talking about and we have not even received a single shred of explanation about how the Professor Hulk form came to be. It is quite extraordinary the things they can pull off without explanation. We just fear that this will lead to a situation where none of the heroes’ actions matter and all consequences are reversible. This discounts the actions that the heroes take at the moment, or maybe that is just us.
The Way Forward
I can see how it was a good idea to put the Hulk in She-Hulk as a full-fledged character. After all, Bruce has been dealing with his Hulk transformation for more than a decade and a half now in the MCU. Who better to show Jennifer the ropes than the green giant himself. But things don’t seem to be that simple. There is a certain level of detachment in their relationship. It seems that the characters are removed from each other.
Whatever the case may be, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is due to receive one of the strangest and most exciting team-ups we have seen in a long while. She-Hulk is going to be a wild ride. We can feel it in our bones right now.
