#1: Episode IX is going to be about Princess Leia

You all must have already noticed the fact that the latest Star Wars trilogy is focusing on the Star Wars icons. The Force Awakens had Harrison Ford’s Han Solo at the forefront and The Last Jedi was all about Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker. Carrie Fisher had a very big hand in the success of Star Wars and Lucasfilm is going to honor her by making her a part of this movie. They will use footage of Carrie from the prior two films. They will do it by the process of rotoscoping, that is, they will digitally remove the background of the footage and use it to create a new scene.

Colin Trevorrow was originally set to direct this movie, but he decided to leave this project due to creative differences between him and Lucasfilm. Colin had a big role for Luke Skywalker in this movie but after The Last Jedi, all his plans were ruined as, well, you know what happened.

As you all must have seen in the latest trailer, Emperor Palpatine is coming back to wreak havoc on everyone. This appearance will make Palpatine the most prominent Star Wars villain in the franchise, not in terms of strength but appearances. Including his holographic cameo appearance in Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980), he has appeared 6 times.

This is possibly the worst news for a Star Wars fan. It was reported that on November 25, 2019, the script for this movie was leaked. John Boyega had kept the script under his bed and it was found by the house cleaner. The person even attempted to sell it on eBay. But Disney and Lucasfilm saved a catastrophe by buying the script back before it was sold.

When the fans saw Billy Dee Williams working hard on his body in May, the speculations began. Well, as it turns out that the fans were right as Billy Dee Williams is coming back to the franchise as Lando Calrissian. With a gap of thirty-six years, the return of Lando marks the longest time for the original actor to reprise his role.

#7: The Movie was screened for a terminally ill fan

After a widespread Twitter campaign, the producers of the movie agreed to arrange a private screening for a terminally ill fan. The boy was from the Rowan Hospice in London. The boy requested to keep his name anonymous. It was a very good gesture on Disney’s part.

#8: Anthony Daniels – The only actor to appear in all Star Wars movies

Anthony Daniels, the actor who plays the character of C-3PO has appeared in all the Star Wars movies and he is the only one to do so. It is surprising to know because fans would have wanted one of the big guns to achieve this feat. C-3PO has been a fan favorite since the start and it is fitting.

George Lucas, the genius behind the Star Wars franchise, initially planned for 12 movies in the franchise. On top of that, he wanted C-3PO and R2-D2 to be the only ones to appear in all the movies. The Skywalker saga will end with this movie.

Even though Luke Skywalker’s arc came to an end in the last movie, Mark Hamill still would be reprising his role as Luke Skywalker. It is still not revealed in what capacity would that happen. We don’t care as we would get to see Luke Skywalker one last time.
