10 Characters Keanu Reeves aka John Wick is Most Likely to Play in The MCU

He was never the star that swept the fans off their feet. He never had an X-Factor associated with him. He is no Brad Pitt of Hollywood or Justin Timberlake. For a Hollywood actor, he was quite the average fellow. And yet he is now at the top. Keanu Reeves started his career with his breakthrough role as Neo in The Matrix series. After that, his career went sort of downhill. That did not deter him from choosing acting as his permanent career to pursue. Keanu Reeves later played John Wick in the movie series of the same name, which has again shot him to fame. His career is enjoying an all-time high and is at its peak. Many claim that Keanu Reeves is a very down to Earth person who always enjoys involving himself with the fans. Why wouldn’t such a lovable actor find his way to the world’s most profitable franchise – the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Presenting – 10 Characters Keanu Reeves aka John Wick is most likely to play in the MCU!!

10. Wolverine

Let us start with the most obvious choice. Keanu Reeves was recently heard saying on record that the superhero he would love to play is none other than the clawed maniac aka Wolverine. The actor that was rumoured to be playing the role of Wolverine after Hugh Jackman hung the claws was Tom Hardy. For some time, even Zac Efron was also rumored to be playing a part. But we would prefer Keanu Reeves to play the Wolverine because it would be a very physically demanding job and Reeves has already proved that he is up for such roles as he has played John Wick – World’s most dangerous Hit-man. Hardy is already playing Venom and Efron is not known to play such rough characters on screen.

 9. Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock was first introduced to us in the MCU (well not in full person but in some way) in the Post Credits sequence of Guardians of the Galaxy volume 2. He was created by the Sovereign, a race of beings focused on genetically polishing themselves to perfection. Adam Warlock is supposed to be Ayesha aka the leader of the Sovereign’s greatest creation. He is the pinnacle of everything the Sovereign stands for. And who better to play the character than Keanu Reeves, who has already played the chosen one/saviour character in the past as Neo of the Matrix trilogy.

 8. Magus

While talking about Adam Warlock, how could we forget Magus – the evil counterpart of Adam Warlock. In Marvel Comics, Magus is all the evil that was found within Adam Warlock’s body that was cast out and created into a separate entity. Magus is someone evens the Mad Titan fears to cross paths with. He is ruthless and brutal in his ways, even more so than Thanos and he has all the powers of Adam Warlock. Magus is also a God-like figure worshipped by his followers as a supreme entity. Keanu Reeves has enough range in his acting skills to portray both the roles in the same movie.

 7. Ghost Rider

The Spirit of Vengeance is getting his own show under Hulu, after Disney bought the streaming service for a hefty amount and licensed it to produce Marvel shows. Hulu will be bringing Ghost Rider to the small screens as the first project they take under the Marvel license. But what is to stop Marvel Studios from creating their own version of the Ghost Rider for the Big Screens? For all we know, the Hulu show will be non-canon to the MCU and this leaves enough room for Keanu reeves to play Johnny Blaze. DC has already done it with Cyborg, who is there in the DCEU as well as Doom Patrol. Reeves could be opening a similar pathway for Marvel.

 6. Nova

The greatest argument that Keanu Reeves’ entry into the MCU could face is his age. The guy is 54 already! But hear us out – there might be a way out to include the awesomeness of Reeves as well as leave room for a younger Nova to take the mantle. Remember that Nova’s history is tied to the planet Xandar, which has been currently ravaged by Thanos and his forces. So instead of introducing only one Nova, we could introduce two – Sam Alexander and Richard Rider. Keanu could play Rider, the older father figure to the younger Sam Alexander, who will soon be the heir to the Human Rocket which will be passed won to him by Reeves’ character.

 5. Doc Samson

Instead of going to outer space, why not ground ourselves to Earth? There is a character here on Earth that Reeves would be perfect to play on screen. Doc Samson is a brilliant psychiatrist who was exposed to Gamma radiation the similar way Bruce Banner was. But a blood transfusion from the Hulk saved him. He gained a permanent green hair colour and enhanced strength and durability. Doc Samson is not as huge as the Hulk but he is still quite bulky when compared to an average person. And so is Keanu Reeves. And his calm, soothing voice is perfect to play the role of a super-powered psychiatrist.

 4. Silver Surfer

With the MCU’s grand plans to move further into the voids of space, the Silver Surfer is all but confirmed to be a part of MCU’s next phase. Silver Surfer’s original name is Norin Radd, a resident of an alien planet that was about to be harvested by Galactus. In return for Galactus sparing his planet, Norrin agreed to become his herald and find other planets for him. The Silver Surfer is a very powerful entity with access to the Power Cosmic. He is a very laid-back character and like Doc Samson, a very calming and soothing voice. This role was made for the Baba Yaga.

 3. Nightmare

The King of the Dream Dimension and the arch-enemy of Doctor Strange is long rumored to be the primary antagonist in Doctor Strange 2 that is set for release in the near future. Doctor Strange and Nightmare have gone toe to toe against each other quite a number of times, with both sides having a comparatively equal number of wins. We are about ninety percent sure that Keanu Reeves will only be roped in for one movie. And we believe that Nightmare could be the role he plays in the MCU. Both the character and the actor also look quite similar.

 2. Mephisto

Unlike what the Ghost Rider movies would have you believe, Mephisto was never a serious guy. Well sure he is the Lord of Hell and a Demon King but that has never managed to quench his sense of humour. He is Loki, only funnier and a LOT more powerful. There are still no plans to include the King of Hell and Master of the Ghost Rider in the MCU but with Doctor Strange 2 coming soon, maybe they will put in some Easter Eggs confirming that the guy exists, That should set Keanu Reeves up for playing Mephisto in Doctor Strange 3.

 1. Moon Knight

Moon Knight is what would happen if John Wick and Batman had a lovechild. The guy is pure insanity. He will shoot himself if there is a chance that the bullet would ricochet off of him and hit his enemies. Yeah, he is that crazy. Keanu Reeves is no stranger to roles where he has to play the part of a cold-blooded murderer. Moon Knight is perfect for him. He can play the Fist of Khonshu, bringing the wrath of the Egyptian Moon God down on his enemies as God’s Avatar on Earth.

Avengers: Endgame was released on 26th April, 2019. The official film synopsis of the movie has been released and it states:

“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
