One of the most anticipated blockbusters to come out this year is certainly Sony’s reboot sequel, Men in Black: International. As the name suggests, this film gives a unique take on the franchise taking it international. We move ahead from the dual of Will Smith and Tony Lee Jones’ Agent J & K and will get to see the Thor: Ragnarok duo Chris Hemsworth & Tessa Thompson team up with Liam Neeson. With such an awesome cast, this movie certainly has to do well.
The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray helmed the new Men in Black movie which will supposedly be the first of a new franchise that Sony may be planning. From what we saw in the trailer of the film, this film seems to be a fun adventure, taking ahead the things that worked well in the previous trilogy, and adding innovative new bits to make it all even better. Now, coming from Collider we have a few new photos from the film which highlight the main trio that is going to star, and it gives us the glimpse of the new aliens that are going to be part of the film. This time the aliens are going to look even more fun and from what you are going to see, you’d have to admit the same.
Looking at the suits that these aliens are wearing, it seems that they probably are working with the organization, in order to make Earth safe from the extra-terrestrial threats. It is good that MIB has actually evolved, using Alien Agents to eradicate threats. Here is another alien who is working for the Men in Black Organization.
The next still shows us Liam Neeson, who seems to be introducing Tessa Thompson’s character Agent O to the alien-fighting organization. Have a look:
Next up there is the new face of the franchise, Chris Hemsworth who will partner up with Tessa Thompson’s character, and the two will lead the franchise further. There’s not much to take away from this image apart from the cousin of Admiral Ackbar (RIP) sitting at the desk right behind Hemsworth.
The trailer shows that the film is certainly having a lot of fun with its plot, and Chris Hemsworth whose comedic chops have recently been discovered in the last 2 years or so, is at the center of all the action and comedy that happens in the film.
One amazing thing that the trailer does is reference Thor and his hammer, the Mighty Mjolnir in its own cool way. Right towards the end of the trailer we see Agent H having an encounter with a weird looking alien, and guess what he uses to attack the alien with, a Hammer!
Chris Hemsworth mentioned in an interview with Variety last year that the upcoming movie will do justice to the high standards of the previous trilogy, and it will up the amount of humour:
“We’re basically trying to put a lot of humor into it like the previous ones. These are obviously some big big shoes to fill, so we’re working our butts off on it to make something pretty epic and fun. They’re trying to change up the locations, make it feel unique and different to the last ones as well. So I think you might even see some different countries, maybe. Some different cities than you’ve seen in the previous Men in Black movies.”
Men in Black International stars Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Infinity War, Rush, Bad Times at the El Royale), Tessa Thompson (Westworld, Creed II), Liam Neeson (Widows, Taken), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Big Sick), Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The Big Short), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Greatest Showman), and Emma Thompson (Beauty and the Beast, Sense and Sensibility). It will release in the theatres on June 14.
