Two ‘SPOILER’ Characters Will Reportedly Return in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man: Far From Home packs a major star cast which includes most of the Homecoming characters, some other MCU characters (Fury & Hill), and apparently new villains including Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio. Rumors suggested that we will also see the return of Michael Keaton’s Adrian Tooms aka the Vulture, but we never really got the confirmation for that.

If you think about it, this film series is building Spider-Man to fight the Sinister Six in the third installment of the Homecoming series, and we believe that Vulture, Mysterio, and Scorpion could be among those 6. So for that to be set up properly by the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, we could see Adrian Toomes making his return in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel. Now, it does seem what we’ve been assuming is totally correct.

Deadline has reportedly confirmed that we will be seeing the return of Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but that’s not it as we will also get to see the return of Laura Harrier’s Liz Allen, who was the daughter of Adrian Toomes and the love interest of Peter Parker in the film.

Well, since Peter has moved from one love interest to the next in Spider-Man: Far From Home, it seemed that we would never see Liz return in the series. But then again, Director Jon Watts is probably not done with her character.

As of now, we don’t know how these two characters would come into play in a story that already involves many aspects. There’s Mysterio setting up the Elementals, then there’s the SHIELD aspect along with Peter Parker’s vacation through Europe. With all this happening, we could assume that there would be just one scene involving Toomes and Liz Allen, and that would probably come towards the end where Liz probably goes to visit her father in prison. That scene may have the set up for the third film which was teased in the mid-credits scene of Homecoming.

The Sinister Six has never been used in a Spider-Man film, and ever since we’ve seen Spider-Man: Homecoming, we know that Marvel is moving along the lines to bring the Sinister Six together. Homecoming itself had 5 villains in play as there was the MCU’s version of Tinkerer, and then The Shocker. Vulture was the big bad, but we also had Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis, who in the comics is the Prowler and Mac Gargan who goes on to become the Scorpion.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will bring us the Elementals, which may be the disposable villains of the film just like the Tinkerer and Shocker presumably were in Homecoming. But the real big bad is going to be Mysterio who will surely be a part of the Sinister Six. Numan Acar is playing a mysterious role in the MCU, and people believe that he is probably playing Dmitri Smerdyakov aka the Chameleon. But we are not sure of that so let’s keep him aside as of now.

As of now considering the team, excluding the Elementals, the Chameleon, the Tinkerer and the Shocker, we have 4 individuals who are potential characters for the Sinister Six. There’s Vulture, Mysterio, Scorpion and the Prowler. There are still 2 important characters left for the team and one of those will be the mystery buyer of the Avengers tower.

People believe that the Avengers tower will be the Baxter building, but Marvel and Fox aren’t on the same page yet, so it has to be a Spider-Man character who buys the building. That is why it will be none other than Norman Osborn.

Even though the character has been repeated in the past, Osborn is a big character in the Spider-Man mythology, so he will be a part of the Homecoming trilogy, no matter what. This brings our count to 5 with Green Goblin leading the team. The sixth member will either be among the characters that we discarded above, or it could be someone like a Kraven, Carrion or maybe even Rhino.

Let’s see what happens. Spider-Man: Far From Home releases on July 5.
