Aquaman Beats Solo And Venom At The Domestic Box-Office

Aquaman skip passes Star Wars: Solo and Venom at the domestic box office and we all know that skip passing these two movies wasn’t an easy task for Aquaman and if anyone would have said this before the release of the movie then he/she would’ve been cast to jail by movie predictors of our industry as the movie simply over-exceeded the expectations.

There were a lot of question marks around the release of the movie Aquaman because there were a lot of people who were doing negative publicity of the movie to its full pace and were saying that a movie on Aquaman is one of the most childish decisions from the side of DC in recent years.

But, all the haters of this movie went back to their caves when the movie released and was declared as a blockbuster because the movie has already broken a lot of records and incoming of this record is something predictable and simple because recently there were claims that the movie could hit the $1 billion mark if it goes by the same speed for 4-5 weeks more.

Well, the movie has already collected a sum of $750 million worldwide and many people predicted a tough run for this movie at the domestic front but they got fooled again as the movie went on to be the winner of two consecutive weekends at the U.S. box office and the movie has made its way into the top 10 movies of the year already, despite being released in December.

So, according to Forbes, it has been reported that the movie Aquaman has collected a sum of $216.2 million while on the run of the domestic box-office which is higher than the unexpected blockbuster of the year 2018, Venom, which earned a sum of $213.2 million. Also, the movie has beaten the collection of SOLO which earned a sum of only $213.7 million. And now, the movie is going to skip pass Mission: Impossible -Fallout in recent days as Fallout has earned a sum of $220.1 million.

For now, Aquaman is on the third spot in DCEU’s worldwide box office collections and is on the sixth place in the list of domestic collection but there are chances that Aquaman will change that in coming weeks as the movie has $216 million to its name. There are chances that the movie is going to beat Justice League’s figure of $229 million for sure.

But, the people who’ll be keeping a close eye on the success of Aquaman will agree with the thought that Aquaman can beat the figure of Man of Steel also as there’s no movie coming in recent weeks to challenge the protector of deep and the figure of Man of Steel is only $291 million. Aquaman has to collect as much money as possible before the release of the movie Glass, which is looking quite promising could be a threat for Aquaman.

Well, we all know that the movie started with 78% of fresh rating on the Tomatometer and also gained the title of ‘Certified Fresh’ by Rotten Tomatoes but seems like the score of the movie is getting down and down but still, the certified fresh badge is still in there.

The critical consensus for the movie Aquaman on the Rotten Tomatoes reads,

Aquaman swims with its entertainingly ludicrous tide, offering up CGI superhero spectacle that delivers energetic action with an emphasis on good old-fashioned fun.”

On the other side, Brandon Davis has written in his review of the movie Aquaman on ComicBook.com,

“Heavy exposition crowds Aquaman through much of its first half. Awkwardly nuanced attempts at somewhat cartoon-ish humor are also present, making some of the water here a little unclear (often seeming as though certain bits of Aquaman were unsure which tone it wanted to commit to). However, each of Aquaman‘s flaws, are complemented by brilliant action-sequences, stylish swagger, and an epic, massive adventure, like the character himself.
