Infinity War Concept Art Reveals Never Before Seen Early Look of Thanos’ Face

New Infinity War Concept Art

Thanos is one of those villains that have a lot of layers. He is a villain that was only teased but never truly made an appearance in the MCU movies for the better half of this decade. Marvel Studios really went all out when they designed and conceptualized Thanos and his place within the MCU.

There were brainstorming sessions in the Marvel Studios by the dozen each day before Marvel could finally home in on a singular design. The Thanos we know and fear could have been way different if the Marvel Overlords would have willed it. Don’t believe us? Look for yourselves. Presenting – Infinity War concept art reveals never before seen early look of Thanos’ face!!

With the passage of time, Thanos’ appearance has changed drastically in the MCU. After making his initial appearance as the Mad Titan in the post-credits of The Avengers of 2012, Thanos has had a facelift, a colour lift and even a shape lift within the Marvel Movies. The work and rigorous redesigning sessions are self-evident from this interesting piece of news.

Ryan Meinerding is the head of the Department of Visual Development, Marvel Studios and he claims that a lot of credit for Thanos’ final look should be rightfully given to his department that packed most of the firepower for this thing. Meinerding claims that his department had to work hard to ensure that there is a perfect blend of Thanos’ comic book appearance and Josh Brolin’s facial and physical features.

We have to say – they did a pretty awesome job!! Meinerding recently posted an early look of Thanos’ face before Infinity War went into post-production. Here is the official post:

Josh Brolin appeared as Thanos for the first time in length in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1. But the directors of Infinity War – Anthony and Joe Russo, have already spoken how important the Mad Titan’s portrayal is to the MCU. They say and we quote:

“He’s such an amazing performer and so uniquely suited to Thanos,” Anthony Russo said to the Telegraph. “What we were looking for in the character of Thanos is the strongest, most intimidating figure in the universe. While at the same time we wanted to tell a story about a character with a really complex and empathetic interior life. There are not a lot of actors that can give you both of those things. Josh Brolin is perhaps the best example that you can find where you have somebody who has a physical presence and brings that level of intensity and threat, while at the same time having another layer always at work underneath that, which is a very complex inner life and a lot of emotional depth and texture.”

In another interview, Josh Brolin reveals why he likes Thanos and what facet of the character attracts him the most. He was heard saying:

“He’s trying to fix the universe,” Brolin said. “He’s trying to balance the cosmos, and by doing that he’s having to destroy a lot of things. So, there’s the warrior Thanos, and then there’s the Thanos that you see in the hut. I personally like the hut Thanos because it’s much more real. He’s perfectly and totally satisfied having accomplished what he set out to do.”

What do you think about Thanos? Does he deserve a slow death or does he deserve a second chance? The Avengers are out for blood. Iron Man and Captain America will lead the surviving heroes to an honorable victory pretty soon. But the question is – Will Thanos live to see another day or will he fall into the abyss in Avengers 4?

The last Avengers movie to be released under the MCU banner was Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
