Did You See Shazam in Justice League?

Justice League had hit the theatres in November and the reaction of the fans was amazing. The movie Justice League is really great according to the fans and each and every moviegoer whether he/she is a comic book fan or not come out having a good time watching the movie. The movie surely had its flaws but it is safe to say that it is a step in the right direction.

The things which are common with all Superhero movies is that they are filled with tonnes of Easter Eggs and they give rise to numerous fan theories. There had been insane fan theories about the movie even before it came out. Now recently, a crazy fan theory has hit the internet saying that we have already seen SHAZAM in the DCEU, or at least his alter ego, Billy Batson.

For those of you who don’t know him, Billy Batson is a kid who has been granted the magical powers to turn into a Superhero, as and when he says SHAZAM. The solo movie of SHAZAM is already under works and will begin production in 2018.

This movie is going to be its own thing, portraying a story of a kid who became a Superhero, and will not be showing huge connections with the rest of the DCEU except a few nods here and there, proving that it is in the same Universe.

Now the fan theory says that we already saw Batson in the recent Justice League movie. When Justice League opens, we see a video of Superman, being interviewed by 2 little kids, which was a great happy way to begin the movie. But now what many fans are suspecting here is that one of these 2 children is actually Billy Batson, taking the video of Superman.

Billy has always been a fanboy of Superheros, especially of Superman. Superman is the one who he admired and is inspired by. Now if they were to retcon, we would all actually be okay with it as it would give Billy/SHAZAM a good motivating factor for being a hero after the death Superman.

Also, director David Sandberg has been teasing Superman to have some sort of involvement in Shazam! for quite a long time, and this would be a really cool way to show his involvement in Billy’s story.

These kinds of retcons work every time, and most recently, we saw one in MCU which got confirmed by Kevin Fiege. It was that we already saw Peter Parker in the MCU way before he first appeared in Civil War.It was revealed that in Iron Man 2, when some drones went rogue at the Hammer Expo, one brave little boy in an Iron Man mask stood tall when a Hammertech mech was about to shoot him, raising his hand and using his imagination to blast the mech with the Iron Man gauntlet he was wearing. Then, came in Iron Man and blasts the Mech Drone for real, saving the boy. That young boy was none other than our own friendly neighborhood guy Peter Parker, confirmed by Tom Holland himself.

“It is Peter Parker, I can confirm that, that is Peter Parker.” Holland said.

“I can confirm that as of today, I literally had a conversation with Kevin Fiege only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.”

It was a great connection to make and all the fans were in for it. This could work the same way in DCEU as well, giving all the fans a cool way of connecting one story with another. So, why not? If they wanted Billy to be the one looking up to Superman, this would just be perfect.

It expands the world a little bit, and automatically tells us where and when this particular character was active in this Universe and how this is going to work in his own Stand-Alone movie. So let’s see if director Sandberg or any of the writers confirm this theory. Zachary Levi is going to play SHAZAM in the movie and Asher Angel will be playing Billy Batson in the movie. Shazam! will hit the theatres on April 5, 2019, and there is plenty of time for many details about the movie to be revealed. So what do you guys think about this? Tell us in the comments.
