The Biggest Unanswered Questions Of Jurassic World 3

The third and last part of the modern-day Jurassic World trilogy, Jurassic World: Dominion is finally out. The movie brought back the original main cast from the 1990s’ Jurassic Park Trilogy. It was everything that fans could’ve wanted. Fans finally saw Owen Grady and Claire meet the fan-favorite characters Drs. Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, and Ellie Satler. The movie was a nice farewell to the Jurassic World trilogy but like many movies of its stature, it was far from perfect. The movie raised many questions that were left unsolved, and here, we have listed the biggest of those unanswered questions of Jurassic World 3.

 1. WAS BIOSYN MAISIE LOCKWOOD’S ONLY PROBLEM?

In a world as big as ours, there is not just one genetic research company. But Jurassic World: Dominion sure showed it that way. We see that BioSyn is the biggest whale in the sea of genetic research and what they want more than anything is Maisie Lockwood. After all, she is the first-ever successful human clone whose genome code has the ability to eradicate all genetic diseases and auto-immune disorders. So she should be a target of every company or lab that researches this field. So if BioSyn is not after her now, is she safe from them too? Will the world ever stop hunting her?

2. WHY DIDN’T THE MOVIE FEATURE JURASSIC PARK’S LEX AND TIM?

The sibling duo, Lex and Tim Murphy, played by Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazello, respectively, were just as important as the three Drs Grant, Sattler, and Malcolm. So, if the movie’s execs brought the original trio back, why didn’t they bring back the siblings? They were one of the iconic features of the first Jurassic Park movie, so their cameo could’ve made this movie better. But after seeing them in the world premiere of the 2022 movie, their absence makes less and less sense.

3. ARENT THERE MORE COMPANIES THAT ARE TRYING TO SYNTHESISE THEIR OWN DINOSAURS?!

Yes, the lead cast was successful in shutting down BioSyn, which we have established as the biggest company that is researching the genetic synthesis of extinct species. And if BioSyn can do that, so can others. So there should be only a matter of time before some other local company’s scientists figure it out. But unlike BioSyn, they take their dinosaurs over to the black market. Or worse yet, they start making dinosaurs on orders. This could lead to a world with a lot more dinosaurs than humans can control. And everything the lead cast did to prevent our extinction, will be for nothing. The movie should have addressed this issue at least once in the end.

4. HOW DID THE BARBASOL CAN SURVIVE TILL JURASSIC WORLD 3?

The Barbasol Cannister was an interesting easter egg from the old Jurassic Park trilogy. The ‘shaving cream can’ was a device that Dennis Nedry used to smuggle 15 InGen Dinosaur embryos from Jurassic Park to Isla Nublar. However, the ‘can’ never left the island, given Nedry met his end at the hands of the Dilophosaurus. The last we saw the can was when Nedry dropped it in the mud. So how did that reach the hands of Lewis Dodgson?

Jurassic Park: The Game did show what happened to the can after this. Apparently, Nima Cruz and Miles Chadwick picked up the can which changed hands before it was again left stranded on the island. Though the execs have hinted that the can will appear again in the fifth season of Jurassic Park: Cap Cretaceous, so we might finally know more about the fate of the can. But for now, this mystery continues to trouble the viewers of the popular franchise.

5. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN DINOSAURS REPRODUCE AND THEIR NUMBERS INCREASE?

Unanswered Questions Of Jurassic World 3

This is a question that has many viewers of the threequel wondering what can happen after the ending of the six-film saga. One of the biggest concerns is that the dinosaurs can reproduce now, as Blue proved. So what can happen if the other ones do too? And a bigger concern is what if the bigger ones do? Jurassic World: Dominion was supposed to be addressing this issue, instead it focused more on the locusts’ plague. And of course, the co-existing part. And now that there might be no plans for a fourth movie, this question may always be unanswered.

6. THE FUTURE OF THE BIOSYN COMPOUND AND THE NEW SANCTUARY

Jurassic World: Dominion left the audience with a news piece that showed that the BioSyn compound is now recognized as a sanctuary for Jurassic wildlife. BioSyn, which was once a leading research company, had now been out of business when Ramsay blew the whistle on them. With most of the companies now out of business, who does the government want to handle the dinosaurs’ issues? And how do they plan to maintain the sanctuary and also contain the dinosaurs there?

7. DID THE DREAM OF ALLEN GRANT AND ELLIE SATTLER SHIPPERS COME TRUE?

Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler have been shipped for a long time now. So when the movie featured Ellie with a family in JP3 after showing her being involved romantically with Alan in the first movie, it broke the fans’ hearts. But now that Ellie said she divorced her husband and her kids are in college, will Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler finally be together? This is one of the mysteries that has left fans troubled, given there is not much possibility to see the characters ever again.

8. WHAT ABOUT THE FUTURE OF OWEN GRADY AND CLAIRE DEARING?

While we’re at it, what about the future of the Jurassic World franchise’s protagonists, Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing? They have always been in a somewhat complex relationship but the four-year gap between the Fallen Kingdom and Dominion saw them act as parents to Maisie Lockwood. But now that she is open to the world, will they still continue to isolate her in the middle of nowhere? And more importantly, will they do it together? Or will they both have to separate to do the most with their lives, given how important Dinosaurs’ survival is to Claire? Guess we’ll never know, or will we?

The movie had its problems, hence the bad reviews, but it crushed the box office despite those. And this goes to show that the dinosaur film genre remains to be one of the best in the industry. There might not be any more Jurassic World movies coming up but the franchise will continue with its Netflix series. And who knows, maybe we’ll get another trilogy down the lane which will reunite Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Isabella Sermon.
