Falcon & Winter Soldier Will Finish Off With A New Captain America

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will focus on Sam and Bucky’s adventures after Steve Rogers passed on his legacy to his best friends while giving his shield to Sam, the Falcon. Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly, and Daniel Brühl. The series premieres on March 19 on Disney+. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier features the debut of Marvel hero U.S. Agent, a super-soldier originally engineered by the government to replace Steve. The Flag-Smashers may not be the only organization working against his wish to pass the shield to Falcon.

Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Mackie revealed that the new Captain America will be named by the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Though it may not be an easy ride, the question of “where the shield’s gonna end up” is the primary concern of the series. Mackie would not say who will assume the mantle and the answer may not be who we expect.

Check out his full quote that follows,

“At the end of Endgame, Sam didn’t accept the shield. If you remember, he told Steve, ‘It doesn’t feel right because this shield is yours.’ So, you know, the show is a long way of figuring around who’s gonna be Captain America. Where the shield’s gonna end up and if Captain America, if that moniker is gonna come back and somebody’s gonna hold that moniker again.”

The upcoming Disney+ series follows the eponymous duo played by Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as they travel the world to combat the anarchist Flag-Smashers. The show is part of a new chapter for the MCU, matching the production quality of the films in limited series on Disney’s own streamer. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the series concerns the allies and friends of Chris Evans’ Captain America. When Steve Rogers lost his super-soldier serum, his body returned to the normal age which allowed him to pass on his legacy to Sam Wilson as Captain America. Sam Wilson will now be leading the Avengers in Mark Waid’s All-New, All-Different Avengers. The team featured the new Captain America alongside Iron Man, Jane Foster’s Thor, and Vision, along with new recruits Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), and Nova (Sam Alexander). Apart from this, Ms. Marvel is set to lead her own Disney+ series.

It’s been said that Mackie apparently knows everything that will go down in Marvel’s Phase 4 which was kicked off by Disney+ WandaVision, on 15th January 2021. Anthony Mackie is really excited to see how the fans react to everything that is on its way. I mean, keeping so much information within is tough, for one I know I wouldn’t be too good with the revelation, just like Tom Holland. You understand the reference. As the old heroes bow out or head on their own journeys, new blood will fill out the Avengers, and new leaders will rise to the challenge. As a new multi-film epic is just beginning, Disney+ series such as Hawkeye and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will explain the rise of entirely new heroes and successors to old ones.

In the Disney+ series, we will see not only Falcon and Winter Soldier be the candidates for holding Captain America’s mantle, but will also feature the debut of a US Agent, being played by Wyatt Russell. Fans have only gotten a glimpse of Russells’ US Agent look in the first trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. But the photos from sets and videos show the US Agent delivering embarrassing beatdowns to his opponents. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities — and their patience — in Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

A Hasbro Titan Heroes Series figure was recently shared on Twitter. The said figure featured Sam Wilson’s Falcon decked out in the signature red-white-and-blue Captain America costume from the Marvel Comics. Not only this but with the matching shield as well.  The translated tweet reads, ” A leak from the ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ toy line shows Sam Wilson’s new uniform.” It still looks like Falcon’s suit, but it now has been blended with the colors of the United States, which is basically Captain America’s costume.

Hence, it has accidentally been revealed that Falcon, Sam Wilson, will eventually be lead to become Captain America after Steve Rogers passed down the torch to him. The packaging that the figure comes in also has artwork of Anthony Mackie wearing the Captain America costume.
