The Batman – Full Look at Batsuit, Batcycle & Catwoman Revealed

We’ve finally got the full look at the Batsuit & the Batcycle from The Batman. Matt Reeves surely seems to be going for a modernized yet real world approach. And yes, this Batman does come in all-black!! This is the darkest Bat-suit as even the utility belt is black this time. The cowl seems to be completely hand stitched by Bruce Wayne and the armor looks militarized. We’ve already talked about the Bat-Symbol. Now let’s talk about the cowl and the Batcycle. Also, there’s a brief glimpse of Catwoman. Here’s a close up shot:

This obviously is a stuntman in place of Robert Pattinson. Before going forward, let’s talk about the fact that this suit is going to bring up a new war between the fans. Some people are going to be ardent haters and are going to call for Affleck to be back while some would definitely remain optimistic as this isn’t the complete look at the suit. There’s still a cape that might be added through CGI, and the goggles might actually be there to add white eyes! Or they could just be a part of the suit as this is a rainy shot. So it could basically be protection from the water getting into Batsy’s eyes.

One thing which we have to agree is that this cowl has been designed to look good at certain angles. The collar on the suit does look more prominent here. The ears are long enough, which is a good thing. All in all, this Batman is in year 2. So, this suit will definitely improve as the franchise moves onto a sequel.

Now let’s talk about the Batcycle. It surely has a comic accurate inspiration. Again we’ve got to focus on the real-world approach here. Reeves is trying to keep things as if Batman could actually exist among us. The suit and the motorcycle totally give that vibe. Now let’s get to the second motorbike. Obviously Catwoman isn’t getting a special looking bike as she’s not Batman. We have to believe that the second individual here is indeed Catwoman. The stunt woman is wearing a helmet but we believe this scene would surely involve Zoe Kravitz. Her suit also seems as if she is just slowly taking up the vigilante persona. We might get a real “Catwoman” suit by the end of the film. Here’s a stunt video that has also made its way online. Watch Batman fall off his motorbike:

The Batman is shooting in Glasgow, Scotland. The scene was shot in wet conditions so it’s understandable that even the stuntman is going to need one or two takes to perfectly shoot the scene. But imagining Batman fall in such a dumb way does make you laugh.

We’ve talked about everything, but we haven’t talked about the Gauntlet. Again, it looks home-made or “Wayne-made”, whatever you may wanna call it. They sure are the most different looking gauntlets as each one of them seem to have projectiles that will be used to shoot at the enemies. Imagine Deadshot, only not so lethal.

Let’s wait for the full look at the suit in motion after the VFX get added to it. This Batman movie is going to be gritty. It’d be a murder mystery that will establish Batman as the greatest detective. Matt Reeves talked about how this detective story will be driven. He said:

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”

The Batman arrives on June 25, 2021.
