Vin Diesel is certainly amongst the biggest names currently working in Hollywood. He is certainly the actor that has not one or 2 but 4 iconic characters that people know him by. He will be adding another one in the name of Bloodshot in 2020 and that will bring his total to 5.
The most popular character that people relate with Vin Diesel is surely Dominic Toretto from the Fast & Furious franchise, and the one to follow in popularity is Groot from the MCU. But the third most iconic character that Vin Diesel plays is Xander Cage in the xXx franchise.
Diesel made his grand return to the xXx franchise back in 2017 15 years after he starred in the first movie of the franchise. xXx: Return of Xander Cage became the most profitable film in the trilogy as it managed to bring in $346 Million worldwide. It wasn’t a big success at the Domestic Box Office, but since the film starred actors from so many different cultures and nationalities, the film actually grossed past $300 Million at the international Box Office.
The production budget of the film was just $85 Million and it was pretty action-packed throughout, so with the profitability and the worldwide love for this film, another sequel within the franchise is a no-brainer!
Deepika Padukone teamed up with Vin Diesel for the first time in xXx, but before this film she was supposed to be in Furious 7. Scheduling conflicts did not allow her to star in the film, and that landed Ali Fazal a role amongst the amazing cast of Furious 7.
But then Padukone finally united with Vin Diesel and now they are going to reteam for yet another sequel in the franchise. As it was apparent in the previous film that along with her, many other Asian stars were a part of the film, and the fourth outing will also bring in Asian Stars to shine on the big screen.
According to a report from Variety Chinese actress Zoe Zhang who is a frequent collaborator with Jackie Chan joined the cast of the film. Along with her, a major Asian pop star Jay Chou will also be a part of the film.
This is not the first time Chou will be a part of a Hollywood movie as he made his debut back in 2011’s The Green Hornet alongside Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz, and then he had a smaller role in Now You See Me 2 as Li, a Macanese magic shop owner.
The final act of The Return of Xander Cage was pretty awesome and it even brought in Ice Cube for a quick-fire extended cameo. So we could imagine that xXx 4 will also include Ice Cube in some way. The there’s always the obligatory inclusion of Samuel L. Jackson who returned from the dead in the last xXx film.
So, xXx4 does seem to be pretty exciting. The director of the film DJ Caruso already mentioned in a tweet for the entire cast – “All coming back.” Here’s what Caruso had to say about the next one in line:
“I think there’s a bigger ‘they’re’ at play that we talked about. We also talked about, particularly with the political climate as it is now, not that we’re such a hugely political movie, but Sam [Jackson] talks about how we need someone to watch the watchers… So that’s kind of the idea with the next one. And then, if we can expand on that, what would the world leaders do if they know that these were the people watching the watchers?”
That makes 2 amazing Vin Diesel films coming out in 2020. He will be starring in Sony’s Bloodshot movie in February, and then we will see him star in xXx4. So 2020 will actually be a treat for Vin Diesel fans.
