Avengers: Infinity War Director Reveals How Thanos Killed The Family of Drax

Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest crossover in the history of Hollywood. So many A-List actors came in at once and did their thing that actually impressed everyone in the greatest way possible. This was the first that a movie was shot on such a huge scale and the stakes in the plot were higher than ever. It was an amazing thriller which no one actually saw coming. Thanos really came in and established why he is indeed called the biggest villain in Marvel.

As we saw, Thanos was not just a Mad Titan who wants to destroy everything and everyone that comes in his way. His methods are brutal but he has a proper reasoning behind what he did. It was not right way as this does not give true meaning to life, and neither is it fair for the ones who died randomly. They did not get the equal chance to rejoice in life, but since the Disintegration was random and necessary in Thanos’ mind, it had to happen.

His motivations were actually relatable and debatable up to a certain extent. Genocide is not the answer we all should be looking for but it is really effective if you think about it. Thanos has shown us that with the Zehoberei Planet, as he killed half the population on that planet and the generations that followed there actually got to lead peaceful lives (according to Thanos). So if it could work on that planet, it could actually work throughout the Universe.

Hydra wanted to perish a few million in order to bring order to the lives of Billions, while Thanos has managed to kill Trillions in order to do that. The thought of this is horrific, but it may actually be effective. While trillions of people lost their lives after the Disintegration, Thanos had to kill families before that as well. One of the important families that died in the MCU was of Drax the Destroyer.

Ronan the Accuser caused mass murder upon the planet Ba-Banis, which was at the order of the Mad Titan. Amongst the population that died on that planet was Drax’s family, which is what has motivated him to go against Ronan and now Thanos. Drax described how Ronan murdered his wife and daughter as he said:

“Ronan murdered my wife, Hovat, and my daughter, Kamaria. He slaughtered them where they stood. And he laughed!”

With the home release of the Infinity War, some Bonus features have also been released for us to enjoy. These Bonus features include the commentary of the creatives behind the movie. So, in a particular commentary by co-Director Joe Russo, it was revealed that Drax’s family and his entire planet actually faced what Gamora’s home planet did. This is what has really motivated him to seek revenge from Thanos, and the scene at Knowhere where Drax does not listen to him and goes on to attack has a deeper meaning than what we just saw. He said:

“This is a callback to Drax’s history with Thanos here… His planet was treated the same way as Gamora’s planet. Drax was put on one side, his family was put on the other.”

Now that Thanos has fulfilled the true goal of his life, the families throughout the Universe would actually be up against him to seek revenge. So, Avengers 4 will be a massive event and Thanos’ end is near, because this time around, the Avengers actually have nothing to lose. That is what will bring Thanos’ end.

Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest movie of the year and here’s the official Synopsis of the movie:

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.
