Here’s Stan Lee’s Secret Plan To Eventually Star In A Marvel Movie

Anyone who knows about the Marvel comics or the MCU sure has heard about Stan Lee, yes the cool old dude appearing in all the Marvel films, be it an MCU production or not. Lee is the creator of some of the best comic superheroes, such as Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Iron Man and the X-Men. In simpler words, if you love a Marvel character, there is a 90% chance that it was Stan Lee’s brainchild.

Stan most recently was seen in the Deadpool trailer. The granddad of the Marvel comics just told about his favorite cameo amongst all that he’s done in all of the Marvel films, it was the one in Avengers: Age of Ultron where he plays a World War 2 veteran who gets hammered on Asgardian liquor.

In the scene Thor comments, “This is not meant for mortal men.” To which Lee replies,” Neither was Omaha beach, Blondie” On being asked, why was it his favorite cameo he said,” The thing I loved about that cameo is, if you think about it, that is the only cameo I have done that had two scenes. It was more than a cameo. It was almost like a role in the movie.” In the second scene, Lee is so drunk that he’s unable to walk on his own and is being escorted by two men. He added,” So now I’m shooting for cameos which have three scenes, four scenes. Eventually, I hope to be the co-star.”

When Feige was asked about Lee’s cameo theory, the Marvel honcho said:

“Yes, we always thought it would be fun. Stan Lee clearly exists, you know, above and apart from the reality of all the films. So the notion that he could be sitting there on a cosmic pit stop during the jump gate sequence in Guardians was something very fun – James had that idea and we shot that cameo and loved it so much, you know, you see it a couple of times in the movie. It wasn’t in for a long time and we put it back in towards the end of the process where he references that time he was a Federal Express agent – we thought it would be fun to put that in there because that really says, so wait a minute, he’s this same character who’s popped up in all these films.”

Whether Lee will have more roles in the Marvel flicks to come or not, it’s great to see even a glimpse of the creator on the silver screen. We’re enthusiastic to see his upcoming cameos in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok later this year.
