10 Things You May Have Missed From Thor Ragnarok Trailer

Thor Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated superhero movies of Marvel Cinematic Universe releasing this November. The teaser trailer was one of the most amazing trailers fans have ever seen. Here’re a few interesting things that you may have missed from the trailer:

The Appearance Of Muspelheim:

Thor Ragnarok’s trailer starts with Thor being binded in chains and being suspended from a volcanic crack. Although the hero doesn’t say where he’s at, it looks like he may be hanging at Muspelheim, one of the nine realms in Norse mythology which is literally the hell of the realms.

Hela’s Introduction:

After months of being teased, Cate Blanchett made her Marvel debut as the villainous Hela and she did not disappoint. Whether it was her antler like headpiece which she wore to battle Valkyrie and her posse in or her destruction of Mjolnir with nonchalance, Hela made her presence known even in a one second teaser trailer.

R.I.P Mjolnir:

Mjolnir was made out of Uru metal, one of the most powerful metals in Marvel. It was wielded by Odin himself and Thor had to really prove himself to wield the Hammer that could create thunder and lightning at will. The shocked when Hela easily crushed the mighty Mjolnir like it was nothing more than a clay based weapon.

Did Ragnarok Come Earlier Than Expected:

Ragnarok means the apocalypse for the Asgardian Gods in Norse mythology. The trailer showcases the destruction of Asgard or parts of it after Hela enters the premises declaring “Asgard Is dead.” This leads one to question if this is the literal destruction known as Ragnarok or she is talking about her claim of a new territory. Hela is, after all the Goddess of Death in both Norse and Marvel comics.

Valkyrie’s Introduction:

Valkyrie captures Thor after he enters Sakaar, but the trailer also gives clips of a different Valkyrie which may be a clue as to how she entered Sakaar in the first place. The movie seems to have basis off some of the Norse mythology, showing Valkyrie face off with Hela that ends in her downfall. Her current situation sees her being a right hand man for the Gamemaster.

Homage To Jack Kirby:

Jack Kirby was one of Marvel and DC comics most talented artists who had his own distinct style of creating. Whether it’s Galactus or Darkseid and the New Gods, Kirby used geometric lines on armor, helmets, and unspecified space machinery.  Ragnarok seems to have based itself on the angular world of Kirby’s legacy especially in Sakaar’s world.

First Look At The Grandmaster and Skurge:

Ragnarok had been hyping the appearance of new characters for the past few months and the trailer did not disappoint. The Grandmaster played by Jeff Goldblum seems as curious and serious about his passion for games as his comicbook character while Skurge makes his first appearance as what may be Hela’s right hand man. Skurge the Executioner as he is known to comicbook fans is half-Asgardian, half-Frost Giant powerhouse is to be played by Karl Urban in Ragnarok.

Thor’s Makeover and Homage:

Thor’s look becomes transformed from a long maned Asgardian God to a short haired gladiator in Sakaar. The trailer also gives reason for Thor’s makeover as The Game-master has forced the Asgardian God to fight in gladiatorial matches. Thor also gives a throwback to his old comicbook costume, wearing his famed helmet but only for the gladiator match.

Loki Plays Both Sides?

Loki, in the Thor Ragnarok trailer seems to be busy being everywhere. The God of Mischief is first seen facing Hela along with Thor in an alleyway in New York. He is then seen playing with daggers in what looks to be an epic fight of some sort. Loki is then seen sitting with The Grandmaster in planet Sakaar watching Thor get pulverized by The Incredible Hulk. So just what little mischievous game is Loki playing?

Planet Hulk Is Real:

Thor Ragnarok’s trailer saves up the introduction of Hulk in Sakaar and he does not disappoint. The hero makes his appearance with all the rage infested anger that Hulk has been known for. He also does not seem to care much about his fellow Avenger team-mate Thor who seemed so relieved at seeing him. The short clip also showcases just how powerful of a gladiator he is, having been the main event for the Grandmaster’s sordid obsession.
