Kong: Skull Island
Kong: Skull Island is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly. This reboot of the King Kong franchise is one of the most anticipated films coming out this year. This time, the action will take place in the Kong’s home turf. Even if the ape has to face his demise in the movie, King Kong will return for an epic battle with another monster, the Godzilla. Kong: Skull Island will hit the screens on March 10th.
Beauty and the Beast
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is directed by Bill Condon and stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Josh Gad, and Ian McKellen. This movie is a remake of the 1991 animated film of the same name. The trailers and promos look promising enough and everyone thinks that the movie would be a match to the predecessor. The makers have added fresh elements to make the movie presentable to the new generation. This movie is also one of Disney’s biggest releases this year. Beauty and the Beast will hit the screens on March 17th.
Power Rangers
Power Rangers is directed by Dean Israelite and stars Naomi Scott, Dacre Montgomery, Elizabeth Banks, Ludi Lin, and Becky G. This movie will present a whole new Power Rangers universe and will serve as a reboot of the franchise. This movie will also serve as the very first Power Ranger film of this century. The colorful superheroes will once again reunite to use their more phenomenal abilities to protect our planet from Rita Repulsa. Power Rangers will hit the screens on March 24th.
The Mummy
The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman and stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Russel Crowe, and Jake Johnson. Everyone has huge expectations for this reboot of The Mummy franchise. The Mummy (1999) is undoubtedly a classic and the new action-packed version will have more horror elements. This movie will also be the very first entry in the Monster Cinematic Universe of Universal Pictures and will be also using the iconic character, Dr. Henry Jekyll (portrayed by Russel Crowe) as a connective thread. The movie will hit the screens on June 9th.
Murder on the Orient Express
Murder on the Orient Express is directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Daisy Ridley, Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Sergei Polunin. This movie is based on Agatha Christie’s novel and is also a remake of the 1974 film of the same name. It is also rumored that the director is adapting the past rather than showcasing the present day. It would be also interesting to see how Kenneth Branagh is going to differentiate the setting from that of Sidney Lumet’s version. We also have got a bunch of talented actors in the lead role and this one seems like a real deal. Murder on the Orient Express will hit the screens from November 22nd.
