Dwayne Johnson’s Jumanji: Cast And Updates

Everything that we heard and thought about Jumanji sequel turned out to be false a week earlier. For all these ages we all heard and thought that Dwayne Johnson’s Jumanji would be a reboot of the original film. But the film is actually not a reboot of the original. In fact, it would be a sequel to the original film and this news was confirmed by Dwayne Johnson earlier this week.

He confirmed this news in an Instagram post to celebrate the pack up ceremony of the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. In his Instagram post, he thanked director F. Gray Gray for his brilliant vision and perfect execution. He then thanked Universal Pictures and entire production team for being very much supportive and caring. His post went on to thank his co-stars and specially mentioned Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Tyrese Gibson and cherished the fun time he had with them in the sets.

He then wrote about Jumanji and confirmed that the new Jumanji would be a sequel to the original film. He also mentioned Kevin Hart and Jack Black in the post as they are playing important roles in the Jumanji sequel and he is very much excited to reunite with them. Nick Jonas is also playing an important role in the movie.

The latest addition to the cast is Karen Gillan, the Guardians of the Galaxy star. Her addition to the Jumanji sequel cast was officially confirmed by Dwayne Johnson via Instagram. He wrote in the post that they were in search of the star (female) to complete the Jumanji family. In their search, they finally found Karen Gillan, who is perfect for the role. He didn’t reveal anything about her character in the post. The only thing that he mentioned was that she would be playing a very pivotal role in the movie.

The original Jumanji is directed by Joe Johnson and was released in the year 1995. The star cast of the movie includes Robin Williams, David Alen Grier, Kristen Dunst, Bradley Pierce, and Bonnie Hunt. The movie is based on a children’s picture book (fantasy) illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg. The movie told the story of Alan Parrish (Robin Williams) who gets trapped in a board game (Jumanji) for long 26 years. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the movie was a huge box-office success. Made with a budget of $65 million, the movie has collected more than $262 million worldwide. Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher and Sex Tape) is roped in to direct the Jumanji sequel. Dwayne Johnson said earlier that the Jumanji sequel will pay tribute to the late legendary actor Robin Williams.
