Many of us have some kind of illness whether it’s physical, behavioral, or mental. But very few of us accept it publically mostly due to the fear of rejection from the society. But these actors have no shame in accepting that they had suffered from some kind of mental illness. They have openly spoken about their struggle, and now encourage others.

1) Leonardo DiCaprio


Leonardo DiCaprio, was suffering from OCD while he was shooting for The Aviator. “I remember my makeup artist and assistant walking me to the set (of ‘The Aviator’) and going, ‘Oh God, we’re going to need 10 minutes to get him there because he has to walk back and step on that thing, touch the door and walk in and out again.”

2) Brad Pitt


Brad Pitt who admitted that once he had struggle very hard to overcome his drug addiction, had also openly talked about his mental illness, Depression, “I used to deal with depression, but I don’t now, not this decade—maybe last decade. But, that’s also figuring out who you are. I see it as a great education, as one of the seasons or a semester. This semester I was majoring in depression. I was doing the same thing every night and numbing myself to sleep, the same routine. Couldn’t wait to get home and hide out.”

3) Angelina Jolie


Angelina Jolie who is quite open about her has admitted that she once suffered from depression, “I felt I was going into very dark place, and I wasn’t capable of getting up in the morning, so I signed up for something that forced me to be active.

4) John Hamm


John Hamm had suffered from an acute case of Depression, “And honestly Antidepressants help! If you can change your brain chemistry enough to think, ‘I want to get up in the morning; I don’t want to sleep until four in the afternoon. I want to get up and go do my sh*t and go to work and …’ Reset the auto-meter, kick-start the engine!”

5) Adam Levine


Adam Levine had suffered from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). “When I was first diagnosed with ADHD, it wasn’t a surprise because I had difficulty in high school focusing. And I think now, people notice my ADHD as an adult on a daily basis. When I can’t pay attention, I really can’t pay attention.”
