A little pressure off Jose Mourinho and a lot of pressure on Tim Sherwood as Chelsea beat Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge. 10-man Crystal Palace fell at home to giant killers West Ham. The late kick-off saw Watford going down to high flying Arsenal at Vicarage Road.

Goal tally rose from 23 to 32 as the remaining two games which were played on Sunday and Monday saw 9 goals. Newcastle had some relief after thumping Norwich City while Stoke City visited the Liberty Stadium and returned with all three points after a narrow win over Swansea.
