Round 8 of the Barclays Premier League (Saturday)

Round 8 of the Barclays Premier League kicked off on Saturday, 03 October with seven cracking matches which included a couple of surprising results. 23 goals were scored in these seven fixtures.

The action started off with Crystal Palace beating West Brom comfortably at home. Two newcomers went head to head as Watford were held to a draw for the fourth time already this season by Bournemouth. Troubles piling up for Aston Villa, as they lost at home to Stoke by the narrowest of margins. Manchester City returned to winning ways as they thumped Newcastle in a seven goal thriller at the Etihad.

Leicester City were also recovering as they went to Norwich and returned with all three points. Winless Sunderland are still without a win as they held giant killers West Ham to draw. Saturday’s Premier League action was wrapped up as the last game of the evening was at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea were shocked by Southampton.
