The depiction of Cannibalism has always been a sensitive issue. Mainly because of the sadism, necromancy, brutality and cannibalism it never gets to hit the theater. Here is a list of five Hollywood movies which were banned due to its disturbing content.
1) Cannibal Ferox(1981)
This movie is said to be the “most violent movie ever made”. The film was written and directed by Umberto Lenzi and was banned in 31 countries. The movie revolves around three friends who are on a journey to disapprove cannibalism.
2) Cannibal Holocaust(1980)
When the film came out, believe it or not, the film authorities summoned the director Ruggero Deodato to present his full cast in the courtroom to prove that they hadn’t been killed during the making. It is by far one of the most violent movies ever made.
3) I Spit On Your Grave
The controversial Cult classic based on hardcore revenge is full of extreme violent scenes. The movie is a story of a girl who was brutally raped by a group of men on a revenge journey. The way the female protagonist takes revenge is undoubtedly violent and pretty brutal.
4) Salo(1975)
There is a story that the director of the film Pier Paolo Pasolini was murdered after the film released. The film depicts pure violence against women and was critically thrashed by everyone. The story revolves around four girls who undergoes mental and physical torture for 120 days.
5) The Human Centipede
This Dutch film was written, directed and co-produced by Tom Six. The movie centers on a doctor who kidnaps three terrorists and carries an unusual experiment to make a human centipede. The way the experiment is carried out is disturbing.
