Hridaynath Mangeshkar, date of birth: 26 October 1937, is an Indian music director. Hridaynath is the only son of noted musician Deenanath Mangeshkar and younger brother of Indian music legends Lata Mangeshkar & Asha Bhosle. Hridaynath is also called by the name Balasaheb in the music and film industry.
Hridaynath began his music career back in 1955 with the Marathi flick: Akash Ganga. Since then, Hridaynath has given music for various Marathi flicks such as Sansar, Chaani, Ha Khel Savalyancha, Janaki, Jait Re Jait, Umbartha and Nivdung and a few Bollywood flicks; the most notable among them being Subah, Lekin… and Maya Memsaab. Some of his most memorable Hindi film scores are Harishchandra Taramati, Prarthana, Chakra, Lekin, Maya Memsaab and Lal Salaam.
