Here’s The Reason Why Thor vs. Thor Did Not Happen in Avengers: Endgame

Bro Thor vs. Thor:

Avengers: Endgame surprises us in ways that we totally didn’t imagine. We got to see some crazy stuff like Smart Hulk, Bro Thor, the portals scene, Cap “Hail Hydra” moment, Cap vs. Cap, Thor taking his hammer to the future and countless other things. But there were some alternate unused elements which would’ve been quite surprising if Marvel had opted for them. One of them was Tony & Thor teaming up to go to Agard to get the Aether & the Tesseract.

It would’ve led to a cool battle sequence between Heimdall & Iron Man as we would’ve finally got the debut of the invisible Iron Man suit from the comics. Moreover, instead of Cap vs. Cap, Endgame would’ve featured Bro Thor vs. Thor from The Dark World. Can you imagine? The battle would’ve actually featured Stormbreaker & Mjolnir against each other. But that didn’t happen as the writers decided to take Endgame to the final battle of Avengers 1.

Apparently, Marvel Scooper Roger Wardell states that there was another reason why Marvel didn’t do Thor V Thor in Endgame. This reason was the arrival of Nobilus. Here’s a look at the history of Nobilus according to Marvel Fandom:

“After Thor shaved his beard at Wundagore Mountain, the unnamed Barber brought the shaving bowl containing Thor’s hair and blood sample to Count Tagar. Nobilus was created by the scientist High Evolutionary from Thor’s cells that he got from Count Tagar, granting him similar powers to him. He was used to defend New Wundagore. When he first fought Thor, he noticed that Nobilus has a berserk personality. Thor mentioned to the High Evolutionary that this was because Thor previously had Loki’s evil influence in him.”

So, Nobilus was created by High Evolutionary using Thor’s DNA. Where did Thor get his hair cut in the MCU? At the hands of Stan the Man in Thor: Ragnarok. Many of us have already heard that the High Evolutionary is coming in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. And we’ve also heard that some of the Guardians (namely Rocket & Groot) are going to hang out with Thor the entire time in Thor: Love And Thunder.

What I am getting at is that the High Evolutionay, who is the creator of Rocket will be set up right from Thor: Love And Thunder. And by the looks of it, Nobilus is seemingly coming in Thor: Love And Thunder. Thor will take him on as his origin was set up from the funniest Stan Lee cameo that took place on Sakaar.

As Nobilus was created from Thor, he is basically a clone who inherited Thor’s superhuman strength, his durability, longevity, healing, stamina and as an extension to all of that, he also has superhuman speed. But what he didn’t inherit is Thor’s worthiness of Mjolnir. Still, the rest of him is basically like Thor. So, according to the scoop from Wardell, we’re going to see Thor fight his clone.

It is possibly not going to be Gorr the God Butcher that Thor fights in Thor 4. Instead, if this scoop holds any truth to it, then Christian Bale could probably be playing Nobilus. Adding both Gorr & Nobilus into the story might seem a little too much because there are also the arcs of Korg, Valkyrie and Jane Foster that Taika Waititi has to explore. Upon that, there’s the rumored arrival of Beta Ray Bill as well.

Take it all with a grain of salt, but this sort of a plot line does make sense as it surprisingly connects Thor: Ragnarok & Thor: Love And Thunder. Furthermore, it also sets up the confrontation of Rocket and the High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Let’s see if what he have predicted turns out to be true. If the Nobilus part is true and the rest isn’t, then the second possibility would be that Thor will take on Nobilus on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. But we’re going with our first prediction instead.
