Death scenes in movies are always depressing, but it is even worse when an animal dies in the movie. These animals played a big part in making our childhood awesome but their deaths crushed us. It does not matter if you are a kid or an adult, these deaths will hit you hard and they will make you shed a lot of tears.

Hooch was Tom Hanks’ sweet companion in this supposed comedy detective drama. Hooch teamed up with Scott to catch the murderer of his previous owner, and he did it in the end, but at the cost of his life. He sacrificed himself to save Scott by taking a bullet for him and died a heroic death.

Movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I

Hedwig was with Harry since the very first movie and her death was a big blow for the fans as hardly anyone expected it (except the book readers). Hedwig lost her life in a bid to save Harry from Death Eaters in the penultimate movie of this franchise. We would have loved to see Hedwig make it till the end along with Harry Potter.

The worst thing about Artrax’s death was the hopelessness. Atreyu and Artrax the horse were trying to clear the Swamp of Sadness and you would drown if you are sad. Sadly, Artrax couldn’t overcome his depression and drowned, while we see Atreyu in tears, crying and fighting a losing battle to save his friend.

After living alone for so long, Sam was everything to Robert, but sadly everything changed when Sam was bitten by a zombie. Robert had to end Sam’s life himself to prevent the pooch from turning into a zombie.

Littlefoot’s mother did exactly what you expect a mother to do when her kid’s life is in danger. She fought the T-rex Sharptooth with all her might in a bid to save her kid but could not save her own life. The final scene involving Littlefoot’s mother is very emotional and it is not for the faint of heart.
