10 MCU Villains Sorted Into Their Game of Thrones Houses

Game of Thrones and the Marvel Cinematic Universe sound like such a weird but wonderful combination! But it is what we are doing today. There have been numerous supervillains in the Marvel Cinematic universe. A few of them have shown traits and qualities that could be easily used to herd them into a specific House in the Game of Thrones Universe. Here’s is a list of MCU Villains sorted Game of Thrones Houses.

 1. Loki – The Faceless Men

The Faceless Men are not a House. They are a guild of assassins that are known to be very adept at shape-shifting tactics. Loki is a wizard who knows how to use magic to change his appearance. He is known to have assumed the identity of Odin during his absence. As a known trickster, Loki has what it takes to become a proud member of the Guild. As a Faceless Man, you get to build all kinds of connections and friends throughout the lands. Loki also has had the opportunity to do just that.

From Thanos to the Chitauri, he has made allies in the most unlikely of people. Loki, if he was ever born to the world of Game of Thrones, would always be herded as a Faceless Man, no questions asked.

 2. Thanos – House Lannister

The Lannisters are known for one thing – instilling great fear. Not many in the land of Westeros are as scarily powerful as the Lannisters. They have made a name for themselves as extremely ruthless and brutally tactical in nature. Thanos is also known to instil a great amount of fear in his enemies. His name alone was enough to make several superheroes cower. The Hulk is one of the many superheroes who fell to his wrath and would almost forever remain in shame and in fear of Thanos.

Thanos is a classic Lannister. He knows his way around his enemies, is not beneath pulling the strings from the shadows and make the others dance to his tune if need be. But if push comes to shove, he can show his strength and make the battle his own.

 3. Alexander Pierce – House Martell

House Martell is one of the most powerful Houses in Westeros. But they refuse to act. They have the military strength as well as the economic acumen to rival the Lannisters and the Baratheons. But their relationship with the Iron Throne forbade them from ever going against it. Alexander Pierce would fall under such a category.

He never had the luxury of showing his true colors. With the vast resources of Hydra as well as Shield under his command, he was a force to be reckoned with. But circumstances dictated that he maintained his façade. And when the time came, just like house Martell, he too fell to the whims of others.

 4. Erik Killmonger – House Stark

House Stark represents a family and land that have always been wronged throughout history. They have faced the worst of all odds and managed to somehow survive each ordeal. The same can be said for Erik Killmonger. His intentions are pure at heart.

As the torchbearer of the noble cause of creating racial equality, Erik Killmonger is someone who has himself been a victim of it and wants to change the top management so that the next generation does not need to go through it all. He wants to avenge his fallen brothers and sisters. Like House Stark, he is ready to go to any extent to get justice. Erik Killmonger could not be put under any House but House Stark.

 5. Kaecilius – House Clegane

House Clegane is known to be a loyalist to the Iron Throne. They provide House Lannister with military support and are considered to be their staunchest, all-weather allies. They themselves do not have many heavy hitters except Gregor and Sandor Clegane. Kaecilius is the heaviest hitter of the Zealots who decides to go against the Ancient One and try to free Dormammu the Dark Lord.

Kaecilius supports Dormammu and will go to any extent to ensure his rule is absolute over all of creation. He also has a score to settle with the Ancient One, which all the more makes him a loyalist to Dormamu’s cause.

 6. Helmut Zemo – House Frey

The Freys were the ones who turned the tide of war. Rob Stark and his soldiers were killed by the Freys and the Boltons who banded together to create now what is infamously known as the Red Wedding. Helmut Zemo has also done something that was spectacularly similar to what the Freys did. He made the Avengers turn on themselves, a feat that was thought to be impossible by some people. Like the Freys, his actions had a permanent and ever-lasting impact on the Avengers.

Zemo may not have the power to directly challenge the Avengers head-on but he has other means of taking down the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes like House Frey’s deceptive tactics to take down House Stark, one of the most powerful houses in all of Westeros.

 7. Whiplash – House Greyjoy

Top 20 Villains of the MCU

The Greyjoys once ruled the seas around Westeros. After they were constantly battered by the Starks, the Tyrells, and the Lannisters, they were forced to cede their power to people they consider as “lesser men”. They still consider the North to be rightfully theirs and have done numerous raids on Winterfell, even successfully conquering it once.

Whiplash aka Ivan Vanko claims that his father was the rightful inventor of the Arc Reactor technology that now powers the Iron Man suit. He believes that his family has been shunned by the actions of Howard Stark, who stole his father’s work and made it his own. Like the Greyjoys, he believes he has been wronged.

 8. Kree Supreme Intelligence – House Arryn

The Kree is one of the most powerful empires in the Marvel Comic Book as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And the entire empire runs on two things – the Kree Supreme Intelligence and religious Zealotry that has forced in a sense of racial superiority in the hearts and minds of all Kree citizens.

House Arryn is a House that has enough firepower to make whichever side they choose the new victor. But they were pretty late to the party. Like the Kree Supreme Intelligence, they showed up way past curfew and the effects of their actions did not induce any permanent change apart from a few minor additions and extensions.

 9. Dormammu – House Targaryen

Major MCU Villain

House Targaryen used to be a powerful entity who ruled the land of Westeros with an Iron Fist, their seat of power being the Iron Throne. After they were banished from Westeros after Robert’s Rebellion, House Targaryen remained trapped in the continent of Essos, looking for allies to regain what was rightfully theirs.

Dormammu is an entity that has always lusted for taking over Earth and the Universe. But like House Baratheon and House Lannister creating a blockade to stop the Targaryens from setting foot over Westeros, the Sanctums were created to stop Dormammu from coming to Earth.

 10. Ultron – The Others

You might think that Ultron might be better suited if he belongs to a proper House of Westeros but there are more than enough reasons for him to be considered as one of the Others aka the White Walkers. Apart from vaguely looking the part, Ultron is also an outcast. He is the only artificially created supervillain in Marvel Cinematic Universe mythos.

There is no one like him and there probably will be no one else like the android supervillain. Like Ultron, the first White Walker aka the Night King was also created. The Children of the Forest used their dark magic to create the White Walker as a harbinger of death and destruction.

Spider-Man could be removed from the MCU

The Last Solo Marvel movie to be released under the Disney banner is Spider-Man: Far From Home. The movie was released on the 2nd of November, 2018. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures — each representing Earth, air, water and fire — emerge from a hole torn in the universe. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.
