Odiyan is an upcoming Indian Malayalam fantasy thriller film directed by V. A. Shrikumar Menon, who is also making his debut as a film director, with this project. The film was written by Harikrishnan. The movie takes inspiration from the legend of the Odiyan clan, who in Kerala folklore are men with shapeshifting abilities and can assume animal forms.
Odiyans are believed to live in the Malabar region of Kerala before the widespread use of electricity. The film casts Mohanlal in the title role, alongside Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier; it was produced by Antony Perumbavoor through Aashirvad Cinemas. The Plot of the Movie
The film narrates the story of one of the most dreaded black magicians in the world, Odiyan, who ruled the darkness of night during what was called the pre-electrification era in South-Indian State: Kerala.
