Radhakrishna (Tarun) and Krishnaveni (Arti) are children of two close friends and business partners Pandurangam (Sartatbabu) and Sivaprasad (Chandramohan) respectively. Right form the start, the two are shown involved in teasing each other. Rakhakrishna reveals to his curious grandmother (Radhakumari) that he is interested in marrying Krishanveni. But this aspect of ‘proposing’ gets lost in the busy schedules of the two teasing each other on every occasion. Krishnaveni realises for the first time that she too is in love with Radhakrishna only when his name is proposed by another girl’s (Laya) parents
